You must buy and sell lots of houses for each occasion that you have political differences. You would literally place your home on the market due to a speaker at your child's school? Simply take the kid to a museum for a day of classical education with the parents. Explain to the child how the political parties work and why you're making this decision.
Selling a house over this matter seems a bit overboard.
