ON THE SHOW TODAY

A Grave Injustice

Nearly 3,000 people died in the September 11th terrorist attacks, but yesterday a jury decided that the only indicted co-conspirator in those attacks should live. Is that fair?

Bug Bites in the Big Easy

As if it didn't have enough problems, New Orleans is now apparently being overrun by mosquitoes. The mosquito control commission--like much of the city--was decimated. But now, a private organization is taking the lead in ridding New Orleans of this problem.

Don't Pitch to Barry

Barry Bonds is now two home runs shy of passing Babe Ruth on the All-Time Home Runs list. If one Atlanta man has his way, Bonds will never get those two home runs. Vince Coyner wants pitchers to intentionally walk Bonds every time he's at the plate. Will it work?

Whatever DID happen to McKinney? Anything? The Barrett report, I fear, is lost. Too many people seem to have intimidated too many people. Able Danger still has a chance..

Gee, Baynative, didn't you get the word?

NOTHING exists unless it first appears in the NYSlime.

(I've gotta stop posting before I get my coffee. Entirely too sarcastic and cynical.)

Good morning -
Super Max? I certainly hope so. I have been to Canon City and seen the place and it ain't pretty even though it is set in a beautiful area of conservatives. I doubt he will get any bleeding heart guards.

Lost At Sea

READ: Job 2:7-10

Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity? —Job 2:10 In the fall of 1982, Deborah Kiley set out with three other young people to deliver the 58-foot yacht Trashman from Maine to Florida. Off the coast of North Carolina, they encountered gale winds and mountainous seas that sank their boat. Enduring 4 grueling days at sea without food or fresh water, the crew clung to life in a rubber dinghy in shark-infested waters.

In her book Albatross, Deborah recalls how one of the crew shouted curses at God for their dilemma. Despite her fatigue, Deborah silently recited The Lord’s Prayer and asked God to teach her through this crisis. Later, the same young man drank seawater, became delirious, jumped overboard, and was eaten by sharks. Eventually, the survivors were rescued by a Russian freighter.

Each of us responds in different ways to a crisis. Centuries ago, Job was hit by one wave of bad news after another. At one point his wife told him to curse God and die. Job’s response was profound: “Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?” (Job 2:10).

The next time a crisis hits, recognize God’s sovereignty and do as Deborah Kiley did—ask God to teach you something through it. Dennis Fisher

O Lord, I would not ask You why
These trials come my way
But what there is for me to learn
Of Your great love, I pray.  —D. De Haan

The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.  —Job

I really hope the implication isn't that the President is in the pay of the Mexicans. Please...it's too early.

Too bad B&J aren't using radioproducer, since she is in NYC, too. Are B&J still using Tony's group in DC?

Of course, Tony may be in an even better position now to see that the Barrett Report and Able Danger come to the forefront.

When the show first started, the day after the announcement, RP showed up and told us all to hang in here because she was expecting a lot of new things for this show. I haven't seen her since, unless she's lurking. RP, are you there?

Buenos dias ya'll. Thanks for the ping Lee. Only 4 more days until we see Tony's first press conference.

Any thoughts on last Idol this morning? I think the decision was correct. Don't know how many more Wednesday nights Katherine can survive. I don't mean getting voted off. I mean she appears to be a wreck waiting for the results.
