What I find particularily hilarious about stories like this is that they simply do not look at the reality of the situation. How many women "marry down" ??? How many times do you hear of a female orthopedic surgeon marrying a ditch digger? IT DOES NOT HAPPEN. But men "marry down" all the time (and no it's not for control as femi-nazi's would tell you). Articles like this are the epitome of whining.

Well, it stand to reason that if women marry up, the man they married, married down.

I didn't read the article--but I did see Nancy Grace on CNN advising female viewers to marry down, actually to marry "ordinary" guys who aren't handsome, so that they wouldn't cheat on the women folk....I thought it amusing.

Hey, Mary Matalyn married James Carville. That's about as down as you can get.

I know anecdotal information doesn't prove anything, but I married up. In almost every way.

How many women "marry down" ???

Some, in our group we have or had two women who one could say "married down" one is an engineer, and former enliste Army signal corps (at the White House no less) type married to a telephone installer, or something like that. The other is a Software engineer, married to a grounds keeper. Oh, and in both cases the husbands are Hispanic, while the women are not.

Seems to work for them, and it's no ones business but theirs.

A friend of mine's daughter did and whilst her father though he had reservations liked the guy and felt that he would go through fire for his daughter unlike some university types she had dated.

Her mother however has never really come round and does not get on with her son in law which does sometimes cause tension.

From an outsider looking in I think she made the right decision he loves and worships the ground she walks on. He may not be able to provide great monetary gifts but he gives the greatest gift of all love and loyalty.
