Can you imagine Bob Gibson on steroids?
I wouldn't even dare get in the batter's box!

Oh I do blame MLB, but it doesn't give Bonds a free pass either.
I'm sure not every Murder in the concentration camps was authorized by superiors.. but does that make the person who committed it any less guilty? Oh I think not.
IF MLB had any integrity, they'd be kicking these bums out, point blank... But they won't do it, because they don't have any integrity.... and neither does the game anymore, and that's depressing.

Didn't follow all of your post, but if you were talking about Bond's taking drug tests, he has taken many. You can find that out just about anywhere. And, it's also accepted as fact that he passed all of them. The questions come up with substances he has admitted taking, but weren't spelled out as illegal at the time he took them. There are also claims that he took things to mask positive tests, but the facts there are even murkier.
As for the rest of your post, it was somewhat scary that I agreed with some of what you said.

1) Bonds is black. There's a kernel of deep-seated racism under a lot of that faux indignation. A commonly hurled charge with little basis in fact.

Nothing but ignorant Dodger fans on this site, or American league losers who wish they had Bonds bating cleanup for their favorite team If either of my teams, Angels or Mariners, signs Bonds I will be a former fan. Period.

Then I was wrong. I apologize.
It seems I misread the part seeming to insinuate that criticism of Bonds involved "deep-seated racism."

The funny thing is not one of those Philadelphia fat asses holding those banners and signs can hit one baseball thrown at them out of the park...nevermind 700 + of them. Takes more than a needle or a bottle of pills to pull a ball out of the park.

Yes, I have a basis for such claims as hand/eye co-ordiantion enahncement. Try reading about steroids sometime, it might wake you up. As I said, Bonds would have been a star, but he would not have set the records he is now heading for if he did not take steroids. If taking steroids does not enhance performance then why do it? I guess he just wanted to run the risk of cancer and impotence for the hell of it huh?
He takes them for one reason: To enhance his ability to hit home runs, to run faster, to have faster reflexes(which alone allows more home runs to be hit!). If they did not help him, he wouldn't take them.
Keep making excuses, but the fact is, HE IS A CHEAT!Have a nice day!

As far as I've heard, no actual sightings or actual accusations have been made about injecting human growth hormones.Use of growth hormone injections is discussed in "Game of Shadows," specific mention of bovine growth hormone was made by the book's authors on an ESPN Radio discussion of the book.

Pete Rose is banned for life for gambling.. Marge Schott is run out of town because she speaks like a woman raised in the 30s and 40s... but hey, blatantly cheat and dope, and we have to use kid gloves and pretend nothings going on?????
Sorry, MLB has no integrity left... And they don't seem to have any desire to try to regain it as far as I can tell.
To: Primetimedonna
...but weakened your argument with the gratuitous reference to the chemists and veterinarians. Gratuitous? It's precisely on point.
Also, what inaccurate namecalling of Bonds has been done on this thread?

I still stand behind my argument that Selig and Baseball management are to blame for not taking a stand, and allowing an atmosphere to develop where an opening was left to find enhancers that weren't covered in standard tests. Now, instead of taking the blame, they're more than happy to throw Bonds to the wolves. That argument is right out of democratic underground! Throw Bonds to the wolves? He's the one doing the junk, not Selig.
