Man, the congregants of the Church of Barroid are staring to lose their grip, aren't they?

Considering what Bonds has said about Babe Ruth, and whites in general, it seems pretty silly to accuse someone on THIS site of being "racist" - unless of course that's the only form of argument you have in your arsenal. In which case, by all means, go right ahead...

I'm going to the game on Weds. If I catch it, the ball is getting tossed back on the field. ;-)

"Cite an example. Don't chicken out."

And this is how it digresses. No longer is it about Barry Bonds, it's about our own racial attitudes. Nice. Did Jesse Jackson teach you that?

I have no more time for the childish exchange you present. You go on defending, it'll make you feel good.

Yes, yes,... name-calling...

Bonds actually was wrong.

Wrong? That is a very odd term to use in baseball. Correct?

There certainly is a real chance that he used "enhancers". I, as an old player for years, just love his swing (to me the best, most compact swing in baseball history) and know that ANY drugs would NEVER give that man that wonderful, disciplined swing and eye at the plate.

And I'm sick of people (not necessarily you) who don't know enough about hitting a baseball to understand that!

NO DRUGS would ever give him the ability he has ...........PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now..... I must go back to work.

You people who are displeased by Barry need help.

I'm reminded of the on-air DUI demonstration on WKRP, when Johnny Fever's reaction time improved with each drink.

I'm not alleging anything.

You replied to me in #16: "If they weren't testing for exactly what he was using, they would not have detected what he was using."

You, and, by inference, the writer, are both alleging that "he was using." Not "he might have been using," but "he was using."

Nice try.

During the mid 1990s, Barroid was simply the finest baseball player in the game. No one is disputing that. He was on pace to have a hall of fame career almost equal to that of his godfather's.

Then, after 1998, his head began expanding at an alarming rate. By 2005, NASA had classified it as a new moon, seeing as how it began affecting the tides.

Though environmentalists are convinced that the global climate changes are cause by global warning, in fact it is the gravitational pull of Barroid's dome that is causing the climatic abnormalities.

From the Babe Ruth website:
"Babe Ruth is the only player ever to hit three home runs in a World Series game on two separate occasions—Game 4 of the 1926 Series and Game 4 of the 1928 Series."

Somebody help me out here:
How well has Bonds done in World Series games?

"In 1927, Babe Ruth’s 60 home runs accounted for 14% of all home runs in the American League that year. To put that figure in modern perspective, a player would need to hit over 340 home runs in a season to account for 14% of the American League’s total homerun output."

No comment required.

"After the Red Sox sold him to the Yankees, Ruth single-handedly outhomered the entire Boston team in 10 of the next 12 seasons."

Can anyone name the time Bonds' home-run output exceeded that of ANY team?

You've misquoted me. The quote you posted is a four word statement of fact. But that's not what I posted. Here's a more full quote:

...that might imply Bonds actually was wrong.

"Wrong" as in morally wrong, as in deceptive and fraudulent.

His pitch selection and swing mechanics would not be affected by steroids as far as I know. But his strength and healing time (and hat size) would definitely be enhanced by steroids.

You know (or knew) Bonds personally, and you're too starstruck to address this objectively.

You continue to rant about cheating and the purity of the game, and on and on. Baseball players have used basically whatever is available to give them an "edge", if Barry Bonds were the first player in history striving to improve his game I might give some credence to what you say, but until you cast everyone who "cheated" (your word not mine) out with him I would appreciate if you word present your opinion, and comment on other's opinions rather than preaching down to us from your pulpit.

. . . know that ANY drugs would NEVER give that man that wonderful, disciplined swing and eye at the plate.

They had a very comprehensive article in a New York newspaper last year about this -- it was right around the time that the Jason Giambi story broke during or just before spring training. Contrary to what is often understood about these performance-enhancing drugs, many of them actually DO result in an enhanced visual acuity for the user.

I suspected this was the case with Giambi. When he started the season last year he was practically falling apart (remember how the Yankees actually tried to demote him to the minor leagues?), and I attributed a lot of this to his loss of bat speed and inability to pick up pitches the way he used to.
