I saw Joe Morgan try his darnedest to spin this with race. According to Joe race comes into every situation in America. If it's possible to involve race, then it's a deciding factor, according to Joe. Now, if a white man said such rubbish, he'd be branded a racist. In fact, I believe that is just about text book racisim. But, Joe will continue to broadcast games, without even a peep about this lattest bit of bile he let out.
I digress. Barry Bond's problem isn't steroids, or race. Barry Bond's problem is he has presented the personna of the ultimate spoiled rich kid with a chip on his shoulder. A truely unlikable person who has had a habit of not performing in the playoffs.
Barry's dad Bobby, was a pro. Barry didn't come from the streets, but was never shy about claiming his race kept him down/apart from others. Bah! Barry, just go away.

I love ESPN but.... they have been promoting Bariod as if he was Cal Ripken Jr. Bariod always has been and always will be a classless jackass. It's too bad ESPN will run all Barry al the time after he passes Babe Ruth. It should be ignored when it happens, but I know that is only wishfull thinking on my part. It will be a sad day for Baseball when The mighty Babe gets passed by the worst example of an athlete ever.

During batting practice recently, a foul ball caromed, "Three Stooges"-like, off Bonds' cranium. The only thing missing was the sound of birds chirping. ROFL! This article nails Bonds' ass.

From the Babe Ruth website:
"Babe Ruth is the only player ever to hit three home runs in a World Series game on two separate occasionsGame 4 of the 1926 Series and Game 4 of the 1928 Series."Somebody help me out here:
How well has Bonds done in World Series games?
"In 1927, Babe Ruths 60 home runs accounted for 14% of all home runs in the American League that year. To put that figure in modern perspective, a player would need to hit over 340 home runs in a season to account for 14% of the American Leagues total homerun output."
No comment required.
"After the Red Sox sold him to the Yankees, Ruth single-handedly outhomered the entire Boston team in 10 of the next 12 seasons."
Can anyone name the time Bonds' home-run output exceeded that of ANY team?

...but the only people outside of McCovey Cove who seem to care are the ones at ESPN, his own private Paraguay. Barry's their boy. Sports Radio, especially ESPN and FoxSports, are over-the-top Liberal. Its become so PC that I can't stand to listen to is any more.

If you can believe it, the Giants actually had the gall to call up the Ruth grandchildren to invite them to the park in order to try and lend a veneer of dignity to this farce.
Not surprisingly, they all said thanks, but no thanks.

I dont know much about the steroid allegations against Bonds. I do know, however, how big of an a**hole he is. His mouth and his attitude do nothing to dispel rumors of substance abuse. He gets what he deserves, IMHO..

from the article: Sunday in Philadelphia, after the fans had hounded him all weekend, Bonds sent No. 713 far into the night. "A Ruthian blast," the Philly Inquirer called it. And it was, too -- in every respect. The trajectory was reminiscent of one Ruth (Babe), and the jog around the bases was reminiscent of another Ruth (Bader Ginsberg). The souvenir wound up in the hands of a serviceman, based in New Jersey, who expects to be summoned soon to Iraq. Bonds rebuffed Carlos Oliveras' request to autograph the ball, the San Francisco Chronicle reported, but did stand still long enough to have his picture taken with him. Afterward, Mr. Congeniality claimed the Philly crowds really weren't that ferocious. "Dodger Stadium is worse," he said.
