Task Force 145 carried out a raid on Saturday morning in the Julaybah area, targeting an al Qaeda Emir that was not identified. Upon arriving in the area, twelve kilometers east of Ramadi, coalition troops came under rifle and machinegun fire, soon followed by mortar fire from across a nearby river. Responding with fire and air support, coalition forces raided five structures, and killed three terrorists while detaining four others. Three vehicles loaded with weapons and IED material were recovered from the area, along with several other weapons caches. Authorities are in the process of determing if the al Qaeda Emir was among the dead or captured.
Which Al queda emir? They've got like a million of em
Zarcqawi
We probably wont hear anymore about this - but if 5 months from now a report comes out that we got him - this is it.
Zarqawi's days are numbered...
Is this a reliable source?
I won't believe it until the story is front page news at Debka.
I can only find ref to this on three sites.
original sources looks to be http://www.mnf-iraq.com/Releases/May/060514a.htm
also http://counterterrorismblog.org/ links to it.
Ping - (regarding the raid I PM you about)
In an Emir higher than a Caliph? What about a pair of Sheikhs?
Always go for the Full House, har har.
In an Emir higher than a Caliph? What about a pair of Sheikhs?
Ranking: highest to lowest:
Caliph - in charge of a Caliphate - which is like a Western empire
Sheikh - a leader of a tribe
Emir - is a military commander
The #3 guy again?
Yep...
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi
I'm tired of the # 3 guy.
Fyi..
Kewl
But there's no bag limit on #3 guys and the season runs all year. They're kinda like jackrabbits; an unending supply. You can catch as many as you want.
