I think a RINO is worse than a Dem.

RINOs translate into GOP committee chairmanships and committee majorities, which makes a huge difference. If you are the GOP, you definitely prefer RINOs to DEMs. Unfortunately, if you prefer GOP leadership to DEM leadership, then you MUST prefer RINOs over DEMs.

No. I will not vote for someone because they have an "R" after their name. My number one priority is to weed out RINOs, not maintaining politcal power. Once the conservatives run the party, it will actually do much better. As Rush says, Republicans do better than when they run as conservatives.

Excellent point. Even a RINO gives more power to Republican Conservatives than a Democrat does. Unless it's Arlen Specter.

This post is really good news and I'm glad to see some action taking place to get rid of these RINOS.

In Iowa,we Conservatives have a real problem....I'd like nothing better than to vote Congressman Jim Leach out of office. He's one of those above mentioned critters that's been in office far too long and obviously just loves riding the fence...BUT, I see he's running unopposed in the primaries in June. I'm writing in a name rather than give him a vote that counts.

And of course, we're stuck with that loud mouthed embarrassment to the state of Iowa, Tom Harkin. How this state can continue to vote him in on the Dem. side, and still vote Sen. Grassley in on the Rep. side, I'll never know. Grassley makes a misstep on rare occasion, but for the most part, he' a really good man and holds to his word.

RINOs move the party left in time. Imagine 4 - 8 years of a RINO for President. By the end of his term America will look back at GW as if he were Barry Goldwater. Frist would be considered by republicans as a right-wing, Olympia Snowe would be considered by republicans as well...what Bush has been considered and Kerry will considered what Joe Liberman is today. Nope, sorry... a RINO would redefine the center over time.

By the end of the Clinton term it was impossible to think America would ever elect another Reagan again. The closest we got was GW Bush and look at the fight we got from the left during campaign 2000 all the way up to now.

Believe me, we have to play it smart and get in conservatives when we can but a RINO is not always best for the republican party in the long term.

I agree.

And even the chance that we can get more conservative judgeships is worth it vs raging Marxist Machiavellian globalist traitors as judges. That's a significant difference with lasting impact.
