The president has supported building a wall for over a year now, so if you have problems with the fact that a wall hasn't been built, take it up with Congress. He supported Sensenbrenner's suggestion to build a 700 mile wall, but Congress rejected it. Bush even signed legislation which funded the wall.

As an aside, although there are complaints that under this administration, employer fines have decreased for hiring illegal immigration, what seems to have gone unnoticed by the border hysterics is that it's because what was once a fine is now a CRIME.

And it is within the power of each Governor to call up the National Guard to defend the borders. But some Governors are opposed to that idea too.
And for those who are saying the war in Iraq is making it impossible for our National Guard to protect the country here, there are over 300,000 National Guardsmen and only 30,000 are in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Klein does not know that "illegal aliens" is the actual correct term while he tries to disparage people who use it by connecting it to Martians.
The fact that Klein agrees with President Bush *should* be enough for Bush to question where he stands. It won't be, but it should.
As a conservative, the Left only admires you or has good things to say about you when you serve their purpose, like Bob Packwood as a Republican abortion supporter, or John McCain as a damager of the First Amendment and general pain in the ass to Republicans.

Professional journalist. In my life I have seen this profession fall from one of prominance to one of public disdain.
So, Rove and Bush organized a plan to "reform" immigration. The plan would grant "amnesty" to 11 million illegals already here, and let about 100 million more illegals in over a few years. It would grant SS benefits to illegals even if they committed numerous fraudulent acts in the past. And it would let illegals who only had one felony or three misdemeanors stay. The plan - worked!
A huge outcry was heard throughout the land, and immigration reform was stopped. President Bush and Karl Rove got what they wanted. Work was started to seal the border and militarize it. The flow of illegals was slowed. His base started throwing out "moderate" Republicans. Even liberal Democrats started going along with the measures to stop immigration.
"I love it when a plan comes together" chuckled Rove. "Good job turd blossom" said President Bush. And away they drove in the stretched black limo, each with a big cigar and a shot of Jack Daniels. God bless America!

Lately I have noticed that several itemsI have purchased have had multiple sets of instructions in them to accomodate the spanish speaking influx.
In fact, over half of the product's package is wasted on foreign language accomodation.
This is a small example of how costly this invasion is becoming. We have made it too easy for those illegals to succeed in America, including non enforcement of long standing laws regarding entry and citizenship.
We must force congress, especially the Senate to observe the laws of the land and quit pandering to big business as a clearinghouse for cheap labor.
And we have to quit supporting the business who exploit the cheap labor pool created by illegal, undocumented workers.
