After telling an audience that young people today "think work is a four-letter word," Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said she apologized to her daughter.
"I said, 'I'm sorry, I didn't mean to convey the impression that you don't work hard,"' Clinton said Sunday in a commencement address at Long Island University. "I just want to set the bar high, because we are in a competition for the future."
Clinton spoke to more than 2,000 graduates days after she criticized young people at a gathering of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington. There she said young people have a sense of entitlement after growing up in a "culture that has a premium on instant gratification."
The senator said that her daughter, Chelsea, phoned to complain after learning about the comments. The 26-year-old was hired in 2003 by McKinsey & Co. as a consultant, reportedly for a six-figure salary. She received a master's degree from Oxford University after graduating from Stanford University in 2001.
"She called and she said, 'Mom, I do work hard and my friends work hard,"' Clinton said Sunday.

According to the tabloid press, Chelsea's hardest work is trying not to embarrass her parents. It is too bad her parents have not worked equally hard to avoid embarrassing Chelsea.

I missed that thread but saw this one.
I agree it is a week old.
Anyone have a referencing link to the other thread?

Hey, FWIW your thread already has more replies than the first
one did. That's why I never complain about reposts.
Now after 4 or 5 times that's another story.

But the press and the comedians won't pick up on that little gaffe, will they? Not unless a Republican had made it.

Thanks so much for bringing us this article. Those of us who went on the FReeps Ahoy 4 cruise just returned and never saw the first posting.
Chelsea was hired by this firm ostensibly as a "consultant". In actuality, because of her name, she is a "rainmaker". A rainmaker is a person with the ability to catch the attention and then snare potential clients because of the celebrity of his/her name.
The job is generally one of entertaining and travelling. I doubt that Chelsea sits at a computer all day doing "research" or somesuch.
The above article is just another contrived story put together by the three Clintons or their PR goons to keep the Clinton name before the public every single day till Hillary's presidential goal is accomplished.

See post 7. The last thread that had the word "Chelsea" in the title was posted in April. I'm not sure what Old Friend would like me to do other than performing a logical search before posting (and, frankly, I don't care), but the general etiquette for complaining about reposts includes a link to the original thread.

THIS is what she chooses to apologize to Chelea for?

Every public move Hillary makes is orchestrated to improve her image. This is not news, it's political theater, designed for the masses.

IMHO finding something with the FR search engine
is about as easy a taking Chinese arithmetic test.
Sometimes I don't even bother to look.
