NBC5.com Police: 14 Illegal Aliens Arrested In Gang Sting Suspects All Face Deportation
POSTED: 12:40 pm CDT May 23, 2006
AURORA, Ill. -- Fourteen illegal immigrants who were members of a street gang were arrested Monday night in Aurora, according to police.
Authorities said the suspects were all Mexican citizens, who now face deportation.
The arrests were made as part of "Operation Community Shield," a national initiative launched by Immigration and Customs Enforcement last year. ICE agents, along with Aurora police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives participated in Monday's arrests, according to a joint news release.
Authorities said the 14 arrested were documented members of the "Sureño 13" street gang. Of those arrested, nine are being held by ICE pending deportation, and five were turned over to state and local authorities on outstanding criminal charges or warrants, and face deportation upon their release, according to police.
Police said 13 of those arrested had past criminal records that included DUI, burglary, retail theft and resisting arrest.
"The lawlessness that these violent gangs propagate presents a grave threat to public safety," ICE Special Agent-in-Charge Elissa A. Brown said in the release. "ICE is proud to be a member of this task force, and we will use all of our authorities to arrest, and ultimately deport, foreign-born gang members who terrorize our communities."
Read my tagline.
Excellent start.
Now lets get to work in LA.
LOL
"face deportation" means that these hombres have a better chance of kicking the winning field goal in the super bowl than being deported.
Do Wayne and Garth know about this?
Meet your future citizen-neighbors. 'Cause there will be no way to track their criminal past once they re-enter the US under another name.
ping
I don't get the point of deporting them.
THANK YOU! This needs to be done all across the country.
As much as it kills the govt, I guess they're really gonna HAVE to deport these guys. Just to prove what they CLAIM they're gonna do in the future.
What happens if they aren't deported - instant job, medical care, driver's license, other benefits?
I have to believe that this round-up is nothing more than government trying to put on a show for the public.
Yep, problem solved. Now on to the next problem.
That brave officer's death is appalling, but it's not all that rare.
"Police said 13 of those arrested had past criminal records that included DUI, burglary, retail theft and resisting arrest."
And yet...they all managed to take a day off from their nefarious activities (May 1st) to march and protest for their "rights" as illegal citizens in the Good Old USA.
Am I wrong? I doubt it, LOL!
OK folks , Heres the answer, but you wont like it.. They should be placed in an American jail for a long time. If we deport them, they will be back before the people who take them to the airport get back to the police station.
Fox isnt going to lock them up when they get to Mexico. More than likely he will get them a bus ride to the closest ilegal border crossing.
Of course the best answer would be to take them out in the desert, make them dig their own hole and plant them in it, But we simply cant do that.Unfortunately anyone we deport to mexico is back on the "Wetback Express" before you can say Amnesty.

No, unfortunately, it's not.
