"No one is above the law."

This statement is true for right thinking persons like yourself but for elected officials it is false as, in their minds it does not apply to them and they have all the big guns to defend their position.

They know that our votes only slightly change the political landscape between the 2 major parties and they can do just about anything and still stay in power.

If any of the great unwashed dare challenge them in any manner other than the ballot box, the full weight of the ruling class legal system will go into attack mode.

The country as defined by the Bill of Rights and the Constitution, has been defeated without a single shot fired.

For years, the universities have pumped out millions of brains full of mush brainwashed to believe government is the answer to every problem. As the great unwashed know, government is the problem. Government is necessary to be sure, but anything but a limited government is evil and some method needs to be employed to put the government back in the chains demanded by the US Constitution.

Does the leadership of the Republican Party have a death wish for the GOP? Or is Hastert merely "hiding the goods" in his own office?
If he thinks any Dim would come to his defense when and if he gets himself in trouble, he's a lunatic.
OTOH, I will forgive him for many of his mistakes if he will stand his ground and kill this travesty of an "Immigration Bill" coming down from the Senate.

Now we know why Hastert was so concerned.

Sounds like Hastert is worried about the FBI uncovering some of his own shenanigans.

I hate it when I'm right.
