"Unless Europe rapidly regains confidence in its principles..."

Europe cannot even muster the will to survive.

"My biggest worry is the Left in our own country is following in their footsteps. And this is what will happen in America if the Dems come to power."

Of course the Left is following in their footsteps. Their standard bearer in the 2004 Presidential election (J. Kerry) still urges us to follow the example of France! If the Left had its way, the U.S.A. would be in as big a mess as Europe and, like Europe, would be doomed.

The Left--American and European--is Decadence.

Decadence is a disease. It has doomed Europe. It has infected the Leftist enclaves of America, the Democrat Party, and the "Mainstream Newsmedia".

This disease is more dangerous than the Black Plague, and it threatens to be far more deadly.

Thank God for Middle America, the last great bastion of healthy, ascendant Western Civilization.

We must assure that America does not succumb to this deadly disease--Decadence--the Left. The fate of the world depends upon it.

Very well stated. Thank you.

For the record, it is worth noting that every malady which the author cites as both symptom and cause of Europe's malaise are relevent to the immigration debate in America. Multiculturalism without check, was only 60,000 votes away in Ohio.

Multiculturalism, relativism, and anti-religion, the bastard brain children of The Frankfurt School, are all exploited to bring us ruin through unchecked immigration.

Removal of the innate survival instinct by forced multiculturalism. I guess the "bastard brain children" thought it would be easier.

["To which ever country picks up the torch that Europe is tired of carrying."]

Mkay, so which country are you most of AFRAID of? And, let's be nice and exclude Antarctica for the sake of argument - it's much too cold for the devil (AQ) to live there.

Umm, let me know before the sky falls. By the way, let me preempt you by not suggesting the idiot (Ahmadinejad) in Iran pumping all the "hot air" coming out of his mouth. They've been doing that for years..."Death to Israel"..."Death to America"...bla bla bla. (sigh)...yeah I'm, afraid and shaking in my boots.

Decadence is a little too pat, for my mind. Europe scared itself with too much war, but also we put our boot on its neck and have occupied it for 60 years. Also they lost their colonies. They are scared of their own shadow, and we make it easy by protecting them. We need to withdraw our troops and make them stand on their own feet. The good news is that we have them actually fighting in the Middle East, though it took years for some to catch on that Afghanistan wasn't a tea party for peacekeepers in running togs.

Fear isn't part of the picture here. (It only accompanies habitual cynicism.)

Au contraire....that's what the author of the posted article was perpetuating...that's why I stated he was being "overly pessimistic."

Some people have difficulty distinguishing between fear and regret.

I believe Europe has had it too easy too long.

They no longer had to defend themselves on any front. No cost living became a right.

Instead they began to believe that the peace they lived under was of their own making instead of through an umbrella of arms provided by the United States.

Have you seen this, a very good article by a woman who has got it right and who also wrote what, by all accounts, is a very good book this very subject:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1635368/posts

I am embarassed to say I cannot remember the author of londonistan who appeared this month on C-Span talking about her book. Well worth watching if you can find it. The book must be great. Same as your article, Belinski (above) and the genesis of it all (below).

> Have you read this, it applies the precepts of your article to America?

"I would also suggest that the separation of Church and State was not intended to expel religiosity from the State either. Church control, yes, but not religion itself, as the ACLU and the secularists spin it."

I will confess to confusion inside my own mind about exactly where and how the line should be drawn. Clearly, the current state of affairs is quite absurd---where we can't even put up Christmas decorations at Christmas on the street.

Probably, conservatives need two things here. 1) Some really excellent thinkers to figure out exactly where the line should be drawn.

2) a funded group of skilled lawyers to defend people who do ordinary things like putting up Christmas decorations. Fortunately, we do have such a group operating at least to an extent (can't remember what they're called.)

"The EU idea is doomed."
I tend to agree with you. I wonder if the CFR's plan to unite Mexico, the U.S., and Canada in a similar arrangement was supposed to be a response to the E.U.

I think more like parallel "bright" idea in order to complete the NWO "paradise".
One positive think Bib Laden did, he threw the monkey wrench into the NWO idea of open borders and "nice peaceful world community".

Many thanks for posting that. As long as Europe has voices like Mr. Pera's and like the Pope's, we may not be lost. At a crossroads, yes, but there is still a little time left to choose the right path. Because those voices are heard more often lately.
