The story circulating on the Internet was hard to believe at first: A North Truro, Mass., volunteer fireman lost his position because he signed a petition opposing gay marriage? After five years, Skip thought his reappointment to the Board of Fire Engineers would be routine. Then Selectman Paul Asher-Best spoke up: "Recent action you took, Mr. Childs, indicates to me that you think that gay people are less than fully human, and not entitled to all the civil rights that are afforded to them. The Supreme Judicial Court talks about marriage rights being a basic civil right. ... I need ... assurance from you that you would offer equal protection to everyone in Truro, including households headed by gay or lesbian people, because to me your action speaks otherwise."

A good man? Apparently Maggie Gallagher doesn't even know what the word "good" means.
Pitiful.
You have to realize that North Truro is on Cape Cod, and not far from Provincetown. As you may know, that town is probably the queerest town in all of the US.
Yes. He is. He's messing with a good firefighter. He's messing with marriage. He's messing with freedom of speech. He's mis-using government power to push individuals who annoy him.
Scum.
These things have a way to come back and haunt you. The Paul Asher-Worst fellow's house will end up burning down, and no, it won't be because of arson.
Twenty-some years ago, when I first moved to Mass., I made the mistake of taking my best friend, who was visiting, to the Cape. In my geographic ignorance I said, "Let's drive to end!" So we did. It did not take too long for us to realize that we didn't want to walk too close together. The queers were definitely prominent even then.
It was a long day.
I have an idea:
Mayor Bloomy from Manhatten said he would marry gay couples....most of the State Senate there approve gay marriages so....
Why not have gay couples live in New York with the slogan of:
New York New York, a gay place to be
and for the other people who don't want to live there:
Come to Pennsylvania where we can have a new slogan of:
Pennsylvania, home of the straights.....
Just a thought...
"Come to Pennsylvania "
I was born and raised in central PA. I didn't even learn the term "lesbian" until I was a teen. And I don't recall ever meeting any. Those were the days.
Here's another idea to solve two problems. For every queer that Mexico takes, we'll take one guest worker...fair?
I will. I think this is ridiculous and stupid.
Now there's a plan.....I like that one....I to live in PA. Northeastern part....I could vote for this plan....
Didn't the homos in Mass steal or otherwise obtain the list of signees of the marriage petition and vow to make some kind of trouble for the people on the list?
yep...it is on knowthyneighbor.org ... actually it cuts both ways as we can more easily identify supporters as well.
That would be perfect, now wouldn't it?
"Now there's a plan.....I like that one"
We can even expand the plan. Why only have queers? We can do an even trade for all liberals....one liberal per guest worker. Given that illegal immigrants are more productive than libs, we might need to give 2 for 1 but so be it. :-)
If a firefighter stated publicly that he/she would not rescue someone or offer their best efforts to help someone who is homosexual that would be reason to let them go. He was speaking against gay marriage, a separate issue altogether.
They, the gay community, starts to sound more and more like the inquisition. Either believe like we do or you are a heretic.
