"It's an insult and a damn libel to call Buchanan a Nazi."

I personally don't care if the Nazi's are offended.

{Long article} Bump for a more thorough reading later.

However, in reading some of this article, I am reminded of Bush's 2000 campaign promise where he stated that he "wouldn't waste a $10 million dollar missile to kill a $50 camel in a $10 tent" (I am quoting from memory).

Before I get flamed I wish to state that Bush's paradigm, which sounds reminiscent of Paleo philosophy, went out the window on 9/11/01 when we ALL realized just how far the neaderthalic followers of the schizoid, pedophile prophet would go. Instead, it is the Paleo's that 'stayed-the-course' with regards to extreme foreign interventionism, where Bush et al. adapted to this threat. What Bush has/is doing has/is been needed to be done for quite some time. Unfortunately, there are too many vested interests in the Middle East (the wacky Mullahs of Iran, the Fascist Mafia of Syria, the bloated smiling two-faced Saudi Arabians, Turkey's non-help at the beginning of the war, and farther afield the duplicitous Russians and Chinese) to make the Iraq policy a quick turnaround of fortunes.

Is that why Rockwell's columnists lecture us on a regular basis how immoral ALL of America's wars have been, including WW II? You see, America was attacked only because we stopped selling Texas oil to the Nazis. Zee Choose dragooned us into the war in furtherance of their (Muahahahaha!) evil Zionist schemes.

It's not a love of Germany but rather a recognition of the immorality of Wilson's War (WWI) and the seeds it laid. The following 80 years of unrest can in many cases be traced back to Wilson's mistake. What threat was this border of states under during WWI?

As for WWII, we'll not go into FDR's unfortunate actions against the Japanese shall we? The Japanese were more concerned with German intervention into the Pacific Rim in the mid 1930s. And what did FDR do to help that? Oh, that's right, cut off supplies to the Japanese and imposed sanctions on them, pushing them into the Axis powers by 1940. Good move there....

The reality is one should very well analyze history and what previous wars have brought us. Korea? Stalemate. Vietnam? Eventually the inevitable communist victory (one should seriously look at this. 30 years later through peaceful trade and not military intervention, Vietnam is becoming a freer society). WWII? What if FDR had not irritated the Japanese needlessly? An imperial Eastern power may well have blocked Communist victories in North Korea, China, Vietnam, and been a further irritation to the new Soviet Union (another thing to thank Wilson for). Could they also have been an ally against Germany? We will never know.

But good of you to use another slur of anti-semitism as an attack. I've found 'conservatives' don't like to look at historical mistakes and try to learn from them. Rather just keep plugging on blindly eh?

So let's suppose that we had been able to avoid a "12-7" and war with Japan. Do you actually believe Hitler would not have attacked the US eventually? The reason he paused after Dunkirk and didn't launch Sea Lion during Britain's weakest moment was to avoid bringing the US into the war. He desperately needed oil, and thought he could polish off Russia quickly to get it. Had he stayed south, instead of being obsessed with destroying Moscow, he might have been able to do exactly that.

So with ample petroleum and no opposition to the east, would Hitler have been content to live happily ever after? In fact, he had been working on the Saenger Amerika bomber since the beginning of the war. If the Amerika bomber OR the Vemork nuke (which could have been delivered to within V-2 range by ship) had reached fruition in time, an attack on America would have been next.

Liberals aren't the only people who live in cloud-cuckoo-land...

Possibly, but I seriously doubt it. The Japanese were concerned about German intervention into that arena. Moreso than the US was concerned about German attacks on the US. If the US had not agitated the Japanese, would the Russians have signed a tentative treaty with the Germans?

You're talking mid war and beyond. The Germans were not as far along in their nuclear search as our government believed at that time. Russia would not have laid down and definitely the Japanese would have done no sort of a thing. He would have had his hands full to the east as well as the west.

But that's beside the point. The US entered into WWII, rightfully so IMO. If to do nothing but begin to correct Wilson's folly from 20 years earlier.

There isn't a thing wrong with being a nationalist and I find him to be a nationalist on economic policy. How did you arrive at the conclusion he is a socialist on anything.

Simple: he wants the government to control economic activity. That is the essence of socialism.

All governments control economic activity. What about his economic positions distress you? Is it his resistance to free trade and the obvious harm its does to our way of life?

All governments control economic activity.

Mr. Buchanan wishes to impose a higher level of control than absolutely necessary.

Is it his resistance to free trade and the obvious harm its does to our way of life?

First, when someone says that something does "obvious harm," that is begging the question. Free trade does not cause obvious harm.

I could not agree with you more. They are radicals beyond belief! I am not the least bit interested in what they have to say. This nation has lost it's mind.

Free trade creates huge negative trade imbalances for the United States. That is obvious harm that increases each month.
What are his positions on trade that you object?

He is an entertainer - nothing more.

"I respect and admire the French, who have been a far greater nation than we shall ever be, that is, if greatness means anything loftier than money and bombs." —

Which is akin to George Steinbrenner saying "I respect and admire the Cubs, who have been a far greater team than we shall ever be."

Conspiracy-theorizing: Justin Raimondo, an Internet journalist who delivered Pat Buchanan's nominating speech at the Reform party convention in 2000 [...] has also repeatedly dropped broad hints that he believes the October 2001 anthrax attacks were the work of an American Jewish scientist bent on stampeding the U.S. into war.

... but, oh! OH! Don't even dream of referring to either of the repugnant little toads (Raimondo or Buchanan) as "anti-Semites," for heaven's sake -- ! :)
