Homeland Security accepts fake ID
The Washington Times ^ | 6/12/2006 | By Stephen Dinan

The Department of Homeland Security allowed a man to enter its headquarters last week using a fake Matricula Consular card as identification, despite federal rules that say the Mexican-issued card is not valid ID at government buildings. Bruce DeCell, a retired New York City police officer, used his phony card -- which lists his place of birth as "Tijuana, B.C." and his address as "123 Fraud Blvd." on an incorrectly spelled "Staton Island, N.Y." -- to enter the building Wednesday for a meeting with DHS officials. Mr. DeCell said he has had the card for four years and has used it again and again to board airliners and enter government buildings, without being turned down once. But he said he was surprised that DHS, the agency in charge of determining secure IDs, accepted it. "Obviously, it's not working," Mr. DeCell said.

That's pretty funny.

Homeland Security is as pathetic as its mission is crucial.

The security people probably see that the card is for a Mexican national and immediately are afraid to stop him for fear of being called racist.

"Obviously, it's not working,"

Do you think if he tried it for a White House tour it would wake Bush up?

..."DHS"...Department of Homeland Security
..."KGB"...Komitet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnosti (or, in
English, "Committee for State Security").
Anybody see anything rather disturbingly odd about this DHS/KGB similarity....? or am I being my usual paranoid self...??

Now, now better be careful you'll get accused of wearing a tinfoil hat next!

I remember when far right whackos such as myself were railing against this agency pointing out among other things that executive orders could have accomplished as much as this new drain on the taxpayer. Gee we have these spiffy new Mike Mondo HS guys searching old ladies at the airport. Let me help them along: Look in the yellow pages under M-O-S-Q-U-E: You'll find the guys trying to kill us there.
