Perot was 100% the fault of Bush 41 himself, not of conservatives. If he had not broken his promise not to raise taxes, there would not have been a conservative defection to Perot. So let the GOP behave, and there will not be a problem.

You're exactly right. Bush 41 led to Perot. If Bush 41 had governed as a conservative, he would have won reelection. This is a lesson of history I had hoped the establishment blue bloods in the Republican Party would have learned from. I guess not.

You are missing the point. Obviously, for the flim flam to work, there has to be a reason to vote for the spoiler.

But Perot wasn't in it to win. if you voted for Perot, you de facto voted for the clintons.

Bingo. Clinton didn't create Perot, Bush did when he ignored the Reagan Democrats who heard the same job sucking sound that Perot did. The sound has only gotten louder plus Bush II adds immigration dissidents to the ignored.

Bush 41 created his own problems. Perot made them worse during and after the elections. And republican voters who thought about teaching the republican leadership a lesson learned that it was them, the voters, who were being taught a lesson. However, it seems like a lot of republican voters don't learn their lessons well.

How can any person with half a brain be thinking that teaching the republicans another lesson will solve any problems. Actually, biting your nose to spite your face will only have the same people that made the mistake in 1992 cry foul again if a democrat gets into office because of republican stupidity again.

I read a lot of republicans making the statements here that we are blessed by the stupidity and ignorance of our enemy, namely the democrats. But, the democrats would seem like geniuses if republicans again go with a third party to the extent that democrats get into power again.

Are you trying to tell us that Bill Clinton was an improvement over GHW Bush?

... If he had not broken his promise not to raise taxes...

Ummm...only the Legislative Branch can raise taxes. And, as I recall, we had a Democrat controlled Congress at that time.

And, as I recall again, Bush's quote was "Read my lips, no NEW taxes".

Another victory for the MSM.

So let the GOP behave, and there will not be a problem.

Comment:

So no new taxes equates to a loss.

So how does no new immigrants equate?

No Shamnesty it's a killer.
