Democrats Set to Call for Phased Pullout (RATS force ANOTHER vote)

WASHINGTON -- Congressional Democrats, seizing on public discontent over the war in Iraq, will offer legislation this week calling for a phased withdrawal of troops from Iraq and a shifting of forces to other nations, where supporters say American soldiers will be less likely to come under attack.

The resolution, crafted by Democratic Senators Jack Reed of Rhode Island and Carl Levin of Michigan, will headline a second week of debate in Congress over the state of the war. It is the first real debate Congress has held on the war since the US invasion in early 2003.

Senate Democrats, many of whom voted to authorize force in Iraq but have become critics of the war, will unveil a resolution today demanding that President Bush begin phasing out US troop presence in Iraq this year.

The resolution, expected to come to the floor as early as tomorrow, also would call on Bush to provide a plan to redeploy remaining troops after 2006, but it does not specify where troops should be moved and how many might come home.

Under the proposal, a small contingent of American troops would be kept in Iraq to train local forces so they can take control of their own country.

``An open-ended time commitment is no longer sustainable," Senator Dianne Feinstein , Democrat of California, said on CNN's ``Late Edition" yesterday .

What posturing. A planned phased pullout has been in the works for months beginning sometime this year.

After last weeks trouncing, especially in the Senate, why the RATS want another vote on record that makes them look cut and run I can't fathom.

Except the moonbats are barking very loudly of course.

Excuse me but 39 Democrats all ready voted against this Friday. I guess they are going to vote against it before they vote for it.

That is analagous to fighting the Japanese in WWII by pulling out of Guadalcanal and redeployng to Chile.

And here come the clowns and traitors with another plan to cut and run and give the terrorists a victory when they are on the brink of total annihilation in Iraq.

This stupid plan will be crushed in the Senate.

Weird. Why would the Senate dumbocrats pull this stunt - when the House so overwhelmingly killed that kind of pull-out requirement only last week?

It seems the RATS have a "kick me" sign on their backs and a sign that says "the floggings will continue until morale improves" around their necks.

Democrats Set to Call for Phased Pullout

Well, it has been almost 60 years since Harry Truman sent U.S. troops to Korea so maybe it is time to announce a phased pullout from Korea.

If the Republicans have any spine at all, they should point out that those who subscribe to this nonsense are cowards.

I won't be holding my breath.

It's hard to have anything but a phased pullout.

The Republicans and an embarassingly small handfull of Democrats showed some spine where it counted last week.

Too late on the Korean pullout, Kim Jong is firing up his missile toy.

What went around has come back around...

Instead of representing me on issues that have already been resolved, ie. withdrawal from Iraq, spend your time on resolving the immigration issue.

I wrote my Congressman, Ike Skelton, and asked him what is going through his mind on voting for a withdrawal of Troops. Also suggested he take the links on his website to "Thank The Troops" off (since in my opinion it was the ultimate hypocrisy) and resign from his position on the Armed Services Committee. I have no idea what is going through this Congressman's head. He has served us well in the past but he's gone off the deep end on this one.

Politics over principles. What a shame and what a sham.

She is RIGHT. We can no longer leave people like her in CONGRESS.

BTTT

My week-old tagline remains appropriate, unfortunately. It will no doubt have a very long shelf life given the Dims continuing behavior.
