Allow me to add one more:

"We, the people of Puerto Rico, in order to organize ourselves politically on a fully democratic basis, to promote the general welfare, and to secure for ourselves and our posterity the complete enjoyment of human rights, placing our trust in Almighty God, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the commonwealth which, in the exercise of our natural rights, we now create within our union with the United States of America.

In so doing, we declare: We understand that the democratic system of government is one in which the will of the people is the source of public power, the political order is subordinate to the rights of man, and the free participation of the citizen in collective decisions is assured

We consider as determining factors in our life our citizenship of the United States of America and our aspiration continually to enrich our democratic heritage in the individual and collective enjoyment of its rights and privileges; our loyalty to the principles of the Federal Constitution; the co-existence in Puerto Rico of the two great cultures of the American Hemisphere; our fervor for education; our faith in justice; our devotion to the courageous, industrious, and peaceful way of life; our fidelity to individual human values above and beyond social position, racial differences, and economic interests; and our hope for a better world based on these principles" - Preamble, Puerto Rico Constitution, July 25, 1952

I wish I had the time to go thru the constitutions of the states and extract the RKBA provisions.

Connecticut, where I reside, has one, and a good one as I remember, but that doesn't mean the legal establishment respects it. (We could say the same thing about the US Constitution!)

And another, the Charter of the Democratic Party of the United States of America (essentially the "constitution" of that party):
CHARTER OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF THE UNITED STATES

We, the Democrats of the United States of America, united in common purpose, ... Under God, and for these ends and upon these principles, we do establish and adopt this Charter of the Democratic Party of the United States of America.

Consider the Committee on Style for our Constitutional Preamble that changed the states power to a Federal central power. The first line originally read We the people of the states of.... and was changed to We the people of the United States..... This one change created the conundrum....

Better archive that page. There are forces within the USA that are actively working towards the day when the word "God" is removed.

Thank you, now here is something I am proud to book mark. I only wonder though that if all 50 states were to start over as today and write a new Constitution, how many of them would still write it the same way. I am afraid to speculate but it would be interesting to see which states still keep God in it. I wouldn't count on Mass.

They wouldn't bother to write a new one. Avoiding the one offered was their best choice.

Well done Revel. I'm suprised some of the NE states have not had an amendment to strike such "offensive" language.

All State Constitutions are unconstitutional!

They all entered the Union illegally. No amnesty.

The 1870 Illinois Constitution was replaced in 1970.
This suggests that not all these Preambles are from the Constitutions currently in place. If so, the present Preambles might not read the same.
This may or may not be important in your educational efforts.
If it is, you may wish to update the list.

As a bonus, I give you this URL for the Avalon Project, which has on line many documents of significance in American and European history.
