FMCDH(BITS)
Heh heh heh......
How about this?....I think Dan is having a case of "the Buckwheats".
FMCDH(BITS)
CBS supposedly did their own internal investigation on the fake documents and naturally didn't find any malfeasance on the part of their staff.
IOW, an entirely lame whitewash. I guess they didn't think they'd better fire Rather, but yanked his anchor chair and decided to put him in the janitors closet until his contract ran out.
That line was nothing resembling a "shot back." It's right up there with "No, YOU'RE a doodyhead."
No class to the very end. Loser.
Hey Dan.....it isn't always about you.
Agree. :D...Courage, Danny-Doy, Courage
and remember the phase...."Fake, but accurate."
hehehe...just like Walter Winchell in the Chicago Riots,1968...."DON'T KNOW, WHO I AM?".....sooo lost....sooo forgotten.
"Dan Rather has left CBS News in a bitter departure clouded by a reporting scandal..."
Only as it should be. The lies surrounding President Bush's military service were on par with what Rather did to a client of mine in the early 1970's. During a 60 Minutes taping, Rather assaulted my client with total fabrications, exaggerations, innuendo and lies. After which, old Danny made sure the tape was edited to prove that his accusations were correct. Except that they weren't. And he knew it. And he didn't care.
Over the years I've wondered if Rather would get what he deserves. It's better than that. He's left CBS in disgrace; as a disgrace. Picture me smiling. It couldn't have happened to a nastier man.
Be careful. Journalism is more addictive than crack cocaine. Your life can get out of balance.
Fear rules almost every newsroom in the country.
I don't back down. I don't cave when the pressure gets too great from these partisan political ideological forces.
I got addicted. News, particularly daily news, is more addictive than crack cocaine, more addictive than heroin, more addictive than cigarettes.
I had someone at the Houston police station shoot me with heroin so I could do a story about it. The experience was a special kind of hell. I came out understanding full well how one could be addicted to 'smack,' and quickly.
I'm proud to say I've never been anybody's lapdog.
I've always tried to be fair, even-handed, not an advocate for any group.
I've tried everything. I can say to you with confidence, I know a fair amount about LSD. I've never been a social user of any of these things, but my curiosity has carried me into a lot of interesting areas.
If you liked this broadcast, we hope you'll watch it again tomorrow night and maybe tell your neighbors about it.
Nobody's pushing me out.
Once the herd starts moving in one direction, it's very hard to turn it, even slightly.
The Michigan Republican primary apparently is tighter than Willie Nelson's headband.
They say California's the big burrito; Texas is a big taco right now. We want to follow that through. Florida is a big tamale.
This race between Dick Swett and Bob Smith is hot and tight as a too-small bathing suit on a too-long car ride back from the beach.
What I say or do here won't matter much, nor should it. Dan Rather
It's choreographed! Too many impossible plays, too many impossible ref calls!
Find another hobby/distraction, that doesn't support the enemedia!
The military could stop a lot of this kind of BS if they would call all of these guys back into service that are claiming they committed war crimes and court martial them.
Dream on. I believe Blather and his agent were in a hurry to push Uncle Walter out the door.
Believe it or not, Rather made quite a few enemies. I bet the sales people were at the top of the list, given his ratings
for a number of years.
Connie's sin? She wasn't on vacation when Federal Building in OKC was blown up.
Yeee-haaaa. He is lucky he was not booted out and jailed for fraud.
I guess Dan really needs a tell-all book by somebody that didn't know Dan before Dan screwed them.
If nothing else, Dan'll get face time to deny the "false" but accurate stories about him.
He's going to pull a Jimmy Carter. He just won't go away, mad or otherwise.
Reuters Reuters Reuters....always needing some editing

Know matter who it is, it is not right that CBS would treat him that way. Perhaps he just did not know when it was time for him to go, did not avail himself of that opportunity.
Even if there was a bit of that going on, more than likely it was a bad corporate culture at CBS that would treat someone with such a long history at the company in such a manner.
