This all is based on the non-proven theory that homosexuality is something that is inherent, and therefore protected as a civil right.
It also rides upon the theory that the stigma associated with homosexuality is worse than the problem itself, and therefore if we can just get people to accept homosexuality as a normal behavior, the problem will go away.
Both are not only unproven, but defy the real data that homosexuality is a learned behavior and that the cause of higher suicide rates among homosexuals is not stigma, but the mental disorder that causes the homosexual behavior itself.
Despite 30 years of activity in the psychological arena to remove the stigma, suicide rates of homosexuals are still at or above the rates they were when it was officially deemed a sexual disorder. Despite 30 years of researching the DNA and genetic aspects of homosexuality, no causal proof has been found.

Or, why not give heterosexuals equal time?
Actually, there was a study done, I think I saw it summarized on Townhall, that showed if you were a child in a public school, you were many times more likely to be sexually abused than if you belong to the Catholic Church.
It is just more entertaining for people to visualize priests abusing kids than school teachers abusing kids.
