That was me Tex. I know it's difficult but try to keep your Cannon haters straight.

So which issue is it that lost the election for Jacob?

Was it:

A.. The Bush/GOP support of Cannon?

b.. The non-issue of illegal immigration?

c.. The LDS "get the voter out" campaign?

d.. Jacob is a kook who believes in Satan and gambled (once)

e.. Cannon spending more than three times on his campaign Jacob.

Because is you take all those issues that even you pointed out had an effect on the outcome of this election, then each would have an approximate 1% effect.

So therefore your "illegal immigration referendum" would have only had a 1% effect on this election....and we can all see that that is complete bullspit.

No, it was Tancredo's referendum and he ended up with a busted flush. He is now irrelevant to the debate. Did you see how quickly the Pence Bill came to life in the last 2 days? Pence is now carrying the flag, Tancredo is now just carrying water.

I may have to retract my earlier statement re: the LDS Church's influence. Intended or not, the letter may well have raised the voter turnout. Unfortunately, that is typically better for incumbents (or those who get major name recognition) as people who go to vote just for the sake of voting (ie uninformed) tend to strictly go with name recognition. It's unfortunate that more folks don't keep track of current events.

I was involved in a campaign (no not Jacobs) and went to well over 300 homes. It was amazing to see the differences in peoples' level of issue knowledge. Frankly, most were clueless about any given issue, then you had those who had listened to their unions etc, and finally a smaller segment who actually took the minor amount of time to keep up. Sad, but that's what I noticed.
