The Telegraph is probably the most conservative daily in Britain.

"More predictably, most Britons believe America is dominated by big business and preoccupied with money. Large majorities of Britons look down on America as 'vulgar' (65 per cent) and 'uncultured' (56 per cent)."

I'll keep them in mind while I celebrate the Independence we declared from them 230 years ago.

"They take a much dimmer view - or so they say - of 4x4 recreation vehicles, McDonald's, the two Hilton sisters Paris and Nicky and, unsurprisingly, Michael Jackson. YouGov's very last question was also the bluntest: "If you could, would you like to go and live in the United States?" A considerable minority, 19 per cent, replied that they would but more than three times that proportion, 67 per cent, indicated that they would prefer to stay put or go to some other country."
They are more civilized than we are, but they are destroying their country with illegals, and islamic scum.

When are Americans ever going to get asked about other nations? Also, just once I'd like to see
who these people think is the shining city on a hill.
My bet is they'd say something stupid such as "Chubby" Chavez or Kim Il Sung.

I am still trying to decide why we should care what other people think about us. I really can't come up with a good reason.

Some day the liberals will learn that there is a difference between maintaining a nation's sovereignty and trying to win the "Miss Congeniality" prize.

The very premise of the article points out one of the core differences between liberals and conservatives here in the US of A. Liberals would get all worked up in a lather because of the dim view the Brits, or the world at large, has to us. Personally, the world can, well, I'll keep it polite, but I don't care what the rest of the world thinks. When the flow of people exiting the USA is greater than those flowing in, it might be time to think about foreign policy. Until then, it's sour grapes.
I'm gonna grill some baby backs all day low and slow on the 4th of July, because I'm an American and I like it that way! Might even toss on a couple ribeyes at the end, just for variety.
