As I understand it, there are plenty of immigration control laws already on the books.
So how 'bout we just firmly enforce what we've already got for, say, a year. Then come back and evaluate and make adjustments if necessary.
IMHO, this whole controversy is smoke and mirrors to put off passing any new unneeded laws until after the Nov elections.

Your right. This is a good example of a law that is need of enforcing. If they enforced this law to the letter, most our the illegal immigration would be gone and no need for HR4437 or the Pence legislation. We need to enforce the laws on the books, not write more legislation.
Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii) "Any person who . . . encourages or induces an illegal alien to . . . reside . . . knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such . . . residence is . . . in violation of law, shall be punished as provided . . . for each illegal alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs . . . fined under title 18 . . . imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both."
