Well, I just saw the very large vacation home where he was staying in Old Snowmass and I knew it, knew it, knew it.

It definitely was one of his original five Aspen homes he was supposed to sell. He only sold four! For $21 million. To fund his defense. He claimed to be $250,000 in the hole when he went into the criminal trial. They cried "broke" all over town. I'd love to show them "broke" as I know it.

I'll look up the value of this one later. I don't remember any being under $5 million asking price (not getting price, however). And he had his kids turning in their home deeds for his bond in the amount of that one house value! Grrr.

Also, I'm not sure about what our local reporter just said. He was standing in front of that house in Old Snowmass and said that the Pitkin County coroner still has to do "the autopsy." I thought the Mesa County Coroner Kurtzman just said in the presser that he already did it. Maybe a 2nd one is coming up? Or maybe the reporter got it wrong.

Also, NBC just said KL still had the high-rise apartment and the Aspen home, totalling assets of $8 million, when he had told the court he was broke - in debt - minus net worth. Good heavens, lying until the very end.

Additionally, someone was still flying him around, because he was in Aspen "for the weekend," according to one report - then back here in Houston on Sunday, according to some who saw him - then back in Aspen on Tuesday the 4th of July, where he died.

And addendum to my post #448:

I've decided the local HouTX reporter who said Lay's home in Snowmass was one of five he had and the only one left that he didn't sell may not have had his facts straight, OR he knows something the public doesn't.

My records showed 4 properties all along and that they did finally sell the 4th one and it wasn't this one. Granted, some of them were "sold" to LLPs that he may have been a partner in - company names that don't tell who owns them. A lot of the Old Snowmass properties are owned in LLP names and it would take me forever to track them all down.

One or two of today's stories said they were leasing that house where they were staying, but I don't know if that's true or not. Perhaps someone with better resources will track it down. I'll just sit on the fence about this now. It didn't match any of my file pix from 2001-2002 of their homes and property, nor did the Snowmass address.

Sorry about that. MSM strikes again, perhaps. Same about the Pitkin autopsy, which I thought the reporter had wrong at the get-go and apparently, he did. No more mention of it after that, by anyone. I give up.
