Ugh. We already have a 'guest worker' program. It's called a work visa - been around a long time. Hasn't stopped the illegals before - isn't going to stop them by changing the name.

They're not guests. Guests are invited. I want them EXTRACTED.

I would suggest that you write your local Representative and thank him/her for standing firm against the Senate bill, and also let them know that you support hearings to air the details of what it contains.
They are the ones that stopped this sham from going forward, and I am sure that they are under a lot of pressure to change their positions.
Let them KNOW that you are watching them!

""We cannot kick people out who have been here for a while," Bush said. "And so I look forward to working with Congress on a rational plan as to how to make sure people who have been here, the 11 million or so people who have been here for a while, are treated with respect and dignity.""
What a frigging joke the President has become on this issue. Because criminals have been successful at evading the law for a long time they should be given a free pass to break our laws in the future. Absolute crap. I've never been more angry or disappointed with a politician I voted for.

Think you'd ever hear this??
"We cannot arrest people who have been evading taxes for a while," Bush said. "And so I look forward to working with Congress on a rational plan as to how to make sure people who have been evading taxes, the 11 million or so people who have been evading taxes for a while, are treated with respect and dignity."

Fool me once - shame on you.
Fool me twice - shame on me.
Already been fooled once during the Reagan amnesty program. I can see where that got us.
Won't be fooled again!

About 80% of Americans oppose guest workers and open borders. But Bush doesn't want to hear the truth. Want to learn the truth about what really happening along our borders? There are live video reports
avaliable here .. Unless, of course, you support open borders: risking National Security, bankrupting social security, trashing Medicare, closing medical clinics, eliminating jobs for Americans, wiping out employment benefits and giving free food to border jumpers.

Bush might as well stand up there and say "Open your wallets Americans because they ARE staying!"

Agreed, but there were lots of non-adults since the 80s that haven't been educated about what a failure this was before and that it is a rehash of an old thing, not a new thought.

"Guest Worker Plan"? It's a shamnesty plan backed by the WH and Senate, but rejected by the House. They are not "guest workers". They are illegal aliens who have the right to return to their home countries, and apply just like everyone else on the planet.
To: markedmannerf
I saw him..
The North Koreans lobbed missile number 7, and our President was pushing his shamnesty agenda at a Dunkin Donuts surrounded by a handful of smiling immigrants who had realized "the American Dream" because they "worked hard" selling donuts.
You can't make this stuff up..

Bush went to a franchised Dunkin' Donuts to extol the virtues of entrepreneurship. He actually gave them credit for being entrepeneurs. Doesn't he know that they just have to come with the money to buy the franchise?
I saw this this afternoon. I don't think the people with the uniforms on in the background even understood him. They just stood there with a stupid smile on their faces.
Bush took a short trip from the White House to Alexandria, Virginia to weigh in on the debate, buying coffee at a Dunkin' Donuts with dollars borrowed from an aide.
He is so out of touch it's not even funny anymore.

"I know there needs to be a worker program that says you can come here on a temporary basis and work here legally for jobs Americans aren't doing," he said. I want an amendment to the Constitution banning this phrase. It is deeply offensive coming from a man who is supposed to RESPECT and represent the legal citizens of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Clearly, he does not.

And he goes on to say: "But I'm also realistic to tell you that we're not going to be able to deport people who've been here working hard and raising their families."
So, they become defacto legals, whether they are officially granted legal status, just by their being here -- which is amnesty -- because the Bush Admin isn't going to do anything with the ones who broke the law and came in illegally.
No matter how much lipstick they put on that pig, amnesty is still amnesty.

I want them EXTRACTED.Me too, after the borders are sealed so no more can sneak in. We've always had this problem, but it's gotten worse in leaps and bounds since Reagan offered amnesty to the illegals. He was a terrific President, but he sure messed up on that one.
