To go off track just a little, the FairTax would help here some as the politicos could no longer tinker with the tax code trying to change our behavior.

I need to read up on the tax "alternatives". I am woefully ignorant at this point. But thesituation is beyond ridiculous and we the people need to start pushing harder.

I’d rather go with a consumption tax. But either one is fine with me.
No more 77,000 pages of tax codes written to benefit certain folks and businesses while everyone else gets screwed.
