A gem from the pandering speech:

"You know there's an important parallel between the perception of Irish immigrants, or German immigrants, or Italian immigrants, or Nordic immigrants, or Chinese or Japanese immigrants, in the 19th and 20th century in what we're seeing in the debate today over immigration. Unfortunately, the debate has clouded the views of some people in America and lead them to fail to understand that Hispanics and all immigrants are real Americans."

With comments like this, Rove doesn't distinguish between legal immigrants and illegal aliens. And he states that his opposition (those who are against amnesty and rewards for illegal aliens) are "clouded" by some sort of misperception towards hispanics.

Rove can go screw himself. It has nothing to do with whether the illegal aliens are hispanic or norwegian or even martians. It has to do with national security, national sovereignty, the rule of law, right and wrong, and what illegal aliens of every race, creed, nationality, color, and stripe are doing to our communities.

This is a disgrace. There has never been any question, regardless of origin, that people who legally immigrate here through that legal progress are Americans. We are talking about illegal aliens Karl and George...they are decidedly NOT real Amreicans. They have broken our laws and invaded our country. We must control this invasion and inforce our laws...otherwise, our national soveriegnty and existance is at risk.

I am sorry, but this stance and view on the immigration issue has soured me on the President's judgement in thi=s area. Although I wholly support how he has tken the war to the enemy on the Terror issue, he is leaving a gaping open flank to our national security on this issue and apparently is doing so to pander to the potential vote and approval of those who are here illegally in this country, and to push forward hios prosperity initiative which I view as un-American as well.

At least we now know that the Bushies have chosen sides in the immigration debate, against the people...

... some people in America (and) lead them to fail to understand that Hispanics and all immigrants are real Americans."

Is this sonofabitch really an intimate adviser to The President of The United States of America? A Republican who pretends to conservatism playing the race card?

Despicable.

Just a minor correction to your post:

For a guy with usually good political instincts, Karl Rove is acting like a guy that doesn't have a clue.
Bottom line" Rove had no business being at the meeting of a bunch of Mexican Nazis.
The fact that the RATS are sinking into the gutter fast, in a mad rush to kow tow to minority hate groups, doesn't mean the Republican Party has to do the same.

Reluctantly, I have to agree with you on that.
President Bush is simply not thinking right on immigration.
All common sense has been thrown out the winder.
The only force standing between Americans and a sell out to a Nazi Mexican outfits, hate groups and reconquista haters, is the US House of Representatives, and the more sane majority of Republican Senators.
We simply have to step up our campaign with our House members, to make sure they don't give in to any blandishments from the amnesty/open borders crowd.

Michelle also noticed that Rove was speaking at a La Raza [The Race] conference. You just can't believe they could pander this hard after reading Michelle's article, but damn if it's not happening.

‘La Raza’ schools: Your tax dollars at work

Top White House adviser Karl Rove traveled to Los Angeles this week to pay homage to the anti-immigration enforcement lobbying group for Latinos: the National Council of La Raza.

"La Raza" is Spanish for "The Race."

It's bad enough the White House lent its prestige to The Race's annual conference. But did you know the Bush administration has forked over millions of federal tax dollars directly to The Race?

According to GOP Rep. Charlie Norwood of Georgia, The Race snapped up $15.2 million in federal grants last year alone and more than $30 million since 1996. Undisclosed amounts went to get-out-the-vote efforts supporting La Raza political positions. The U.S. Department of Education funneled nearly $8 million in taxpayer grants to the group for a nationwide charter schools initiative.

Among The Race's most infamous government-funded charter schools is La Academia Semillas del Pubelo, the Los Angeles public school that teaches "Aztec math" (ancient dot math is the new math) and the Mexican indigenous language of "Nahuatl." The ethnic separatist principal of the school, Marcos Aguilar, told a sympathetic UCLA interviewer:

"We don't want to drink from a White water fountain, we have our own wells and our natural reservoirs and our way of collecting rain in our aqueducts. We don't need a White water fountain…We are not interested in what they have because we have so much more and because the world is so much larger. And ultimately the White way, the American way, the neo liberal, capitalist way of life will eventually lead to our own destruction."

thanks for posting bump!!!!

Bush and Rove could care less about America, our laws and our soverignty. It is obvious that Rove is speaking for Bush when addressing a overtly racist hate group like la Raza.

Principles before party.

He has been referred to as "Bush's Brain". If that is indeed the case then someone needs their HDD reformatted.

Rove's only saying what his boss wants him to say.

"We are now one of the largest Spanish-speaking nations in the world. We're a major source of Latin music, journalism and culture.

Just go to Miami, or San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago or West New York, New Jersey ... and close your eyes and listen. You could just as easily be in Santo Domingo or Santiago, or San Miguel de Allende.

For years our nation has debated this change -- some have praised it and others have resented it. By nominating me, my party has made a choice to welcome the new America."
