(CNSNews.com)- Republicans say Democrats ought to be ashamed of themselves for using the flag-draped coffins of U.S. troops who died in Iraq for political gain.
The coffins-- and other depictions of violence in Iraq-- are among the images featured in a new political ad produced by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, a group that raises funds to elect Democrats to Congress.
"It makes my stomach turn to see National Democrats so blatantly exploit the sacrafices made by the men and women of our armed forces," National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Tom Reynolds said in a press release.

The party of gloom!
Their reply to criticism is that "the GOP showed pictures of firefighters removing bodies from the WTC...."

Rich Lowery just said on Fox, "Why is it the every time the Democrats want to "honor" our soldiers it shows them dead?"

However, this also shows signs of desperation, which is ultimately good news. Let them do it, it will backfire big time.

I've seen the coffin footage in an ad here in Colorado for some dem named Herb Rubenstein running for US Congress. It also gives the number of dead and the obligatory "For a war based on lies".
Real tasteless. On the other hand, I like that a far lefty like this guy is letting everybody see the real face of the Democratic party. The craftier old-school Dems got to be cringing a little at this.

Very good question. Don't expect an answer to it.

This is disgusting....you can bet if this was done by Republicans, RATS would be all over the TV pounding their fists, and Chucky Cheese would kill anyone in between him and a camera....
But then you look at this on another side, and you can tell that the American people might think this is disgusting enough that they will support the Republican ticket....

I'm surprised they aren't showing open coffins.
The Democrats look like ghouls and act like grave robbers.
But, they support the troops.....

So when GOP ads remind voters of 9-11 to emphasize the point of electing hawkish politicians that will fight this war with the military and not the courts, it's just horrible and using 9-11 for political gain. But when Democrats now use our fallen heros who have given their lives in combat to protect our country, as a way of attacking the war and the efforts of our military, that's okay as a way to get them back in power. More and more hypocrisy from the Democrats. Just when you think they can't get more hypocritical, they come out with that ad.

I forgot to ad that at the end of the Herb Rubenstein's voice come on and says something like "...and I proudly support this message".
It almost seemed like it was a shot at the current Dems in Congress who the angry left feels aren't traitorous enough.

It isn't just the flag draped coffins that is offensive.
Repulsive exploitation of grief for political gain.
