Man On Moon: We Saw a UFO (Buzz Aldrin)
UK Daily Record ^ | 24 July 2006 | Mike Swain

Posted on 07/25/2006 11:13:09 AM PDT by wagglebee

THE first men to walk on the Moon reported seeing a UFO, a new TV documentary reveals.

Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the Moon's surface after Neil Armstrong, says space agency bosses covered up their sighting.

And the Apollo 11 astronauts were also careful not to talk about it openly.

He said: "There was something out there, close enough to be observed, and what could it be?

"Now, obviously the three of us weren't going to blurt out, 'Hey, Houston, we've got something moving alongside of us and we don't know what it is, you know?

"Can you tell us what it is?'

"We weren't about to do that, because we knew that that those transmissions would be heard by all sorts of people and somebody might have demanded we turn back because of aliens or whatever the reason is."

The documentary, tonight on Five, also reveals that the astronauts had to repair the lunar module with a ballpoint pen after the historic landing in July 1969.

In the cramped conditions, someone's bulky spacesuit had snapped off a circuit breaker essential for starting up the engine.

To this day, Aldrin treasures the everyday object that saved their lives.

He said: "I used a pen, one of several that we had on board that didn't have metal on the end, and we used that to push the circuit breaker in."

The programme also draws on classified documents made public for the first time.

I have seen a few moon photos that show stars. Obviously, they were taken at such an angle and at such a time that the incredibly bright sunlight on the moon's surface was not such as to create a high contrast situation that would obscure the stars, as was almost always the case.

Secondly, I heard an audio clip on the 'net that is supposedly of the Apollo astronauts (might be Aldrin). The astronaut is saying "Houston, this is (call sign). We still have the alien spacecraft...uh, under observance.">

I'll try to find the link.

"I find it incredibly comical that the 'moon landing' had only a couple of eyewitnesses yet over 50 million people claim to have seen UFOs, and people will believe the moonmen and not believe 'normal' people..."

Yes, but those couple of people that landed on the moon have the very highest credibility, while the credibility of the general public is usually unknown, at least initially. However, many witnesses do turn out to have high credibility as well - that B-52 crew that was featured on the Jennings special comes to mind.

OTOH, if memory serves, I think most UFO specialists believe that over 90% of sightings have prosaic explanations - which still leaves a very large number of cases that cannot be explained.

It is a fascinating subject, and has the potential to be a good bit more than fascinating.

And I wish some posters had the wit to recognize a joke when they see it.

He was joking? Whew! Thank God for that...........!

OK, correction... the quote and sound clip were from Space Shuttle Astronauts (Discovery). The page also has a faked clip by "Neil Armstrong". Hear for yourself below:

I've seen some things...I know many people who have seen some things...And while no one I know claims that these things were piloted by aliens, the one thing we all agree on is that we know what these things were NOT...

To be really accurate it was a 64 1/2 and it was a 202

64 1/2 whoud be a 170 6 banger, 65 would have been a 200. I've never heard of a Mustang with a 202ci engine, but if you say so.

Get as nit pickey as you want.
To be really accurate it was a 64 1/2 and it was a 202.
It was not a 289 and there were a lot of 65's with 202's.
Thanks for trying, but it was my car.

If'n it was a '64 1/2 Mustang, you had either a 170 inline-6 or a 260 V-8 (assuming it was original). There was an earlier V-8 used in the Falcon/Comet; the 221. For my '65 Mustang (Fastback), the engine options were the 200 inline-6 or one of three versions of the 289 V-8. The 289 was increased in displacement in '68, creating the Ford 302.

Obligatory on-topic content: In either one of the episodes of From the Earth To The Moon or in Apollo 13 (I forget which), there's a nighttime Space Coast "cruising" scene which includes a glimpse of a '65 Shelby Mustang in a drag race.

It's a bullsh*t question. The 1964 1/2 mustang came with a 170 inline 6 or a 260 V-8. I can't answer the question, because there was no such thing!

I think u are right. It was the 170 that me and my dad rebuilt to a 202. It was the little in line 6.
Unfortunately it got sold and was used as a decoration around the bottom of a telephone pole.

Aldrin made these claims some time ago and has stuck to them...this is actually old news.

It's not clear what they saw but they saw something.

Everything is falling in zero G. Hence the term "freefall."

I suspect a Weather Balloon.

Wow, I never knew aliens used weather ballons, I thought they were more advanced than that.
