THE first men to walk on the Moon reported seeing a UFO, a new TV documentary reveals.
Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the Moon's surface after Neil Armstrong, says space agency bosses covered up their sighting.
And the Apollo 11 astronauts were also careful not to talk about it openly.
He said: "There was something out there, close enough to be observed, and what could it be?
"Now, obviously the three of us weren't going to blurt out, 'Hey, Houston, we've got something moving alongside of us and we don't know what it is, you know?
"Can you tell us what it is?'

"We weren't about to do that, because we knew that that those transmissions would be heard by all sorts of people and somebody might have demanded we turn back because of aliens or whatever the reason is."
The documentary, tonight on Five, also reveals that the astronauts had to repair the lunar module with a ballpoint pen after the historic landing in July 1969.
In the cramped conditions, someone's bulky spacesuit had snapped off a circuit breaker essential for starting up the engine.
To this day, Aldrin treasures the everyday object that saved their lives.
He said: "I used a pen, one of several that we had on board that didn't have metal on the end, and we used that to push the circuit breaker in."
The programme also draws on classified documents made public for the first time.
No, I'm saying that Hanks did the scene as it was presented in Chaikin's book, and that his doing so is insufficient grounds for condemning him as anti-Christian.
Oh, you also deduced that it must have been Aldrin's fault that this story got out (and it couldn't possibly be an anecdote by Armstrong or someone else "dramatized" by Chaikin).
When you read the description of Aldrin taking communion, it's definitely written from Aldrin's POV, as it describes Aldrin's thoughts in some detail, while it presents what Armstrong's expression and body language looked like, and nothing of what his thoughts were.

Did they play it as Armstrong "not getting" Aldrin's desire to take communion or not? That has to be percieved by believing Christians as disapproval, whomever you ascribe it to originally.
As to Chaikin writing from "Aldrin's POV," that is totally under the control of the author and, without attribution, you cannot ascribe the source as having been Aldrin without other evidence. Your assumption is logical, but totally unprovable. It is only your assumption. I may choose to think taht Chaikin (or Hanks, for that matter) chose to structure it that way for their own purposes. There is absolutely no evidence to contradict either supposition.
That is my recollection of it. And I admit that my perception at the time may not have been 100% accurate (I watched the series and read the book at about the same time while in extended recuperation from a life-threatening illness). That's why I'm careful to say "my recollection."

Why? There's a lot of things about some religions that I do not get--that doesn't equal disapproval, it equals not understanding those things. Disapproval and a lack of understanding are not synonymous.
Keep reading. There's quite a few posts devoted to the subject. The short answer is, it takes a very long exposure to capture stars on film or on a digital sensor. Such long exposures are not compatible with taking pictures of landscapes or other astronauts.

I suppose it depends on what one means about 'going over to the space alien believers.'
She's a believer that they are real because of the enormous tons of evidence she's uncovered and experienced over the decades. The confirmations from highly placed government, military types alone would convince an HONEST, OBJECTIVE journalist.
The disturbing part, to me, is that she seems to have swallowed some of the new agey stuff that some of them may be benign. But even that is not clear. She is also aware of more of the evil stuff they do than most people are. So, she may not think of them as benign. I'm unclear about that.
But her own spiritual beliefs seem somewhat new agey with some sort of token Christian something. I think that's asking to be deceived at some point by the aliens and their shadow government cohorts.
But on the whole she is STILL VERY FIERCELY OBJECTIVE IN HER RESEARCH HABITS, JOURNALISTIC HABITS; CRITERIA, REALITY TESTING ETC. I have utter confidence in her on that score after our extended conversations face to face.

AB: Do you have missing info on the APOLLO TAPES?
DG: My uncle was a senior engineer who built the Apollo module [ or some such]
DG: We have witnesses who were at Langley . . . very compartmentalized center there monitoring the images coming in and compartmentalizing the ET STRUCTURES on the moon as they were coming in . . . when we went there in 1969, there were UFO's that were seen at the time of the Apollo mission . . . I know people who have seen the footage in very classified briefings. What was shown the public is not the full true story of the Apollo missions.
AB: Dr Greer, can you be certain that the 3 seperate sources are not feeding information to you to discredit you?
DG: Oh, yes, I'm confident it's not disinformation . . . for a NASA AMES researcher unsolicited to seek me out . . . a senior astronomer . . . who saw how the curtain of secrecy fell . . . and this other gentleman who's name would be a household name . . . I find it incredible . . . my conversation with this same man years earlier who said that if it were known that he were even having a conversation with me that his whole career would be trashed.
AB: Art, it's not surprising that this story has been squealched . . . look at what happened with the Phoenix lights event. . . . not a word in the mainstream press. . . .until 3 months later. . . .
DG: How did that happen! mmmmhhmmmm. [Quix's sister lives in Phoenix and asserts it was definitely real--definitely a solid craft and not flares]
DG: We have a defense intelligence agency person who have assets pointing down toward earth and others out toward space who has seen these images of enormous craft. We know they exist. We have witnesses who've seen them. WE want more witnesses to come forward . . .
DG: John Calahan . . . 3rd highest ranking . . . during Reagan . . . .this man actually had the digital images of the enormous craft shadowing the JAL craft over Alaska. We actually digital image.
AB: ARt, is all this being kept secret because of religion?
DG: A scientist at JPL: They had confirmed that there were ancient ET structures on Mars. And that if that info came out, it would undermine--not belief in God--but a lot of the orthodox religions . . .
DG: It isn't the government per se . . . 97% of the people in the government when they say they don't know anything abou this--they really dont'.
AB: What othermotives can you imagine for not releasing this?
DG: It's a matter of connecting the dots . . . once this has been disclosed, then this will leak, then this, then no need at all for oil and coal . . . the power centers colelcted around the energy sectors . . . they have enough reach to keep the secrets. . . . I think some of the motives are geopolitical power and financial.
