THE first men to walk on the Moon reported seeing a UFO, a new TV documentary reveals.
Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the Moon's surface after Neil Armstrong, says space agency bosses covered up their sighting.
And the Apollo 11 astronauts were also careful not to talk about it openly.
He said: "There was something out there, close enough to be observed, and what could it be?
"Now, obviously the three of us weren't going to blurt out, 'Hey, Houston, we've got something moving alongside of us and we don't know what it is, you know?
"Can you tell us what it is?'

"We weren't about to do that, because we knew that that those transmissions would be heard by all sorts of people and somebody might have demanded we turn back because of aliens or whatever the reason is."
The documentary, tonight on Five, also reveals that the astronauts had to repair the lunar module with a ballpoint pen after the historic landing in July 1969.
In the cramped conditions, someone's bulky spacesuit had snapped off a circuit breaker essential for starting up the engine.
To this day, Aldrin treasures the everyday object that saved their lives.
He said: "I used a pen, one of several that we had on board that didn't have metal on the end, and we used that to push the circuit breaker in."
The programme also draws on classified documents made public for the first time.
Was it Buzz Aldrin who left the outter space program to go into the innerspace program? He became a new age guru. Or was that another astronaut?
What was interesting about that whole sequence were the things he said and the things he didn't say.
When he referred to the suit--he accused the book of saying he saw little green men . . . which, he did not see.
When Art pressed him about did he see craft etc. he mostly dodged the question and seemed to IMPLY he did not see other craft by insisting he saw "our own" as though he saw only our own. I thought it was a very slick dodge/"white" lie IF the other reports have any validity at all, as I believe they do.
Hoagland went on later to note that there are photos on his website or which are on his video or some such which have only had the gain, the contrast increased and which show 'other' structures on the moon. Hoagland asserts that he sent a copy of that photo to a different moon astronaut and immediately got back an email which said WHEN you find a high resolution copy of that, SEND IT TO ME IMMEDIATELY . . . implying he'd then talk business with Hoagland. There was no disagreement about the photo's validity. There was no calling Hoagland a quack etc. There was significant implication that the astronaut would be ready to tell more WHEN Hoagland found the high resolution version.
I just knew listening to Buzz that he was wedded to the party line for whatever reason and I found that sad at this point. I was particularly sad since even the recent experiments on light and the speed of light show Buzz's assertions about the supposed Einsteinian 'limit' to be out dated by our own feeble science.
PING.
Hoagland still thinks Walter was great at CBS. I have to question his thoughts.
"GN: So you didn't see any space craft on the moon?
"BA: No, just ours."
One thing for sure: when we get to look at the Face on Mars close up, it will be because of him; otherwise Mars would be colonized because of whatever resources are found there and the Face would not even be a curiosity. I would also like to see the glass domes on the moon, but only because that means we would have gone back to the moon.
Ahhh. More specific than I'd recalled it. Thanks.
George Noory asked the burning questions right off the bat. Then they got down to what Aldrin wanted to talk about, which is the manned exploration of Mars.
I particularly enjoyed his description of that -- not everyone can come back, so some will have to stay behind. Captain Donner will lead the expedition. ;')
Oh yeah Space 1999. What a great show. I use to watch it as a kid. I was too young to really understood, but I just loved watching it anyways. I thought it was neat to see the spaceships, astronauts, etc...

Scotty was out of dilithium crystals
So we used Chock full o' Nuts instead
Buzz was on the radio just the other night in NY City and said he took someone to court over misquoting him about UFOs. He saw "lights" which were later easily explained. He NEVER said he saw UFOs
"It was the 60s....everyone was seeing UFOs."
Actually, more reports are coming in these days than ever did in the 60's.
Bill's pee-pee is this long when erect!
So it took a bunch of nuts to run that space ship search?
Figures!
Hear hear!
Did anyone watch the HISTORY CHANNEL's UFO shows last night?
They went over several Apollo and Shuttle flights and made, I think, a very, very strong case for the multiple sightings of UFO craft even as recently as a shuttle flight within the last 18 months, IIRC.
I didn't take notes so I don't recall more specifics as I was preoccupied with other priorities at the time I was watching it. But I was impressed with the video presentations and the background; multiple source checking to go along with the videos.
I personally think it was another incremental unveiling of bits of puzzle pieces . . . we shall see. I hope some others have more specifics to share. Probably it will be aired again multiple times.
Cheers
I recall now one sequence where they had forced to be released by FOIA some audio tapes of Air Traffic Controllers and at one point them in touch with NORAD.
The UFO concerned was huge and was sighted by two different airliners. At first NORAD didn't have it on radar and then they did. They tried to pass it off as reflections of normal strobe lights from the ground and what not but it didn't wash with either of the air crews. At one point, one of the planes was under the UFO while the other plane still saw it below them.
And the radar returns indicated that the craft was at least 400 feet long.
Anyone else see that sequence and can add anything?
