UFO = Unidentified Flying Object. Strong emphasis on the first word.

Translation: "We saw a light and didn't know what it was." I'd be amazed if the first people who ever set foot on an extraterrestrial body didn't see at least one of those.

Good point. I've seen UFOs, but the question of whether they were ships guided by intelligent beings from another planet is a totally open question. I'm not saying I think it's impossible, but UFO stories and ghost stories (most psychic phenomena) are like Alice's visit to the shop in "Through the Looking Glass." All the shelves are full, but when you look at any particular shelf, it's empty, although all the shelves around it are packed to bursting. Most of these stories don't stand up to scrutiny.

BTW, I'm fairly certain the UFO I saw was something from a nearby military base.
