AS the fight over immigration gets ever hotter both in Washington and in many states, one thing seems obvious: Neither of the pending congressional bills is broad enough to deal with the basic issues.
Even in the unlikely event that there were some compromise between the hard-nosed, punish-`em-all House bill and the bipartisan, more comprehensive McCain-Kennedy Senate measure, the issue wouldn't go away. Without a more comprehensive approach, the immigration fight may never end.
The critics of the Senate bill are right: It smacks a lot of IRCA, the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, which also combined legalization, a guest worker program, tougher border enforcement and sanctions for employers of illegal workers. It didn't succeed for many reasons - the proliferation of fake identification documents, a lack of government will to enforce the sanctions, a secondary wave of illegal relatives joining the immigrants granted amnesty, among others.

"North America is no longer just a geographical expression," said Robert Pastor, director of North American Studies at American University in Washington. "It has become a formidable and integrated region."
So says he.

Pastor plods on, pushing the North American Union.
This man is, by nearly all accounts, single-handedly architecting the destruction of the United States.

Pastor wants an intensive 10-year program to improve Mexico's infrastructure. That would involve about $8 billion annually from the United States - for a total of $80billion
When you add in remittances, that comes to $100 billion annually.
With management by the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank,
And, he wants our tax money to be managed by an international institution.

What, they're planning to leave out New England and the South? Or is Cuba and the Caribbean getting the South, and Canada New England, the midwest, and the northwest?

One more 9/11 type terrorist attack and the Feds, GWB and every other swinging dick in America is gonna "see the bigger picture!"
The borders WILL BE SEALED and every Muslim and illegal alien in America will have to pack up their bag and baggage and go back to whatever hellhole they originated from.
Our ancestors didn't come to this country LEGALLY just so a bunch of camel jockeys could terrorize our women and children and make hamburger out of our families and just so a bunch of illegal aliens could screw us out of our hard earned tax dollars!

I doubt it, GWB had over 5 years so far to quell the flow of illegals, he's not put a dent in the numbers so far.

Bush will be gone in two years. And by that time, if we haven't already had another terrorist attack in America, the candidate who campaigns on border security and illegal immigration will rise to the top. And then we will be able to elect a POTUS who will secure the borders and enforce the immigration laws of this country.

A viable, real approach will require an adjective with at least five silly-bulls. Sadly, "comprehensive" has only four.
Too bad. How about a "disestablishmentariast" approach?*

Feds fail to see bigger picture on borderThis is incorrectly titled. They see the "bigger picture" plenty well. The problem is that their goals are not your goals, my goals, or the goals of a patent United States.

Never going to happen. Mexico cannot control the territory already belonging to it. It would be just one great big region of warfare and anarchy, like parts of northern Mexico. The wall is needed now. This is NOT about immigration, which is why I hate the way congress keeps talking of "immigration reform". This is about violent criminals, drug dealers and gun runners, and various scum of the earth, like Islamic terrorists, undermining the security and stability of our nation.

Pastor held hands and smooched with Jimmy Carter

or support this socialist, anti American bastard
goes beyond comprehention.

What bothers me is the REAL ID act waiting in the wings to be forced on the American public in the event of another "Pearl Harbor type event".......to quote the PNAC boys.
To: hedgetrimmer
What is the taxpayer supposed to do, bail out the entire world, let Mexico fix it's own infrustructure and they can start with the billions the illegals have pumped from America into Fox's hands.
"Without a more comprehensive approach.."
And shove your comprehensive bs.. Protecting American citizens isn't dependent on anything more than enforcing existing laws. Tell the truth Bush, you just don't care to because it doesn't fit another one of your grandiose plans.

People who genuinely care for this country's sovereignty are being portrayed as kooks by a number of groups including, our President and his Admin. The real kooks are the ones who don't realize these groups are selling us down the road for profit and fame.
