Oh, please! The guy's an actor who was drunk...he didn't take a gun into a synagogue and mow people down. He didn't blame the Jews for 9/11 and he didn't call for the destruction of Israel.
I'm not the one writing articles about him. These people are. I'm just saying what he will have to do to get back into their good graces if he wants too. I'm NOT saying I agree with it. So stop your flames.
He doesn't have to "atone" for anything. He just needs to stay sober and quit Frenching women who aren't his wife. Everything else will follow.
If he is judging an entire group of people per what the reports are, he's sinned by the BIBLE. Sorry, but your post makes no headway there either.

You say, "I'm NOT saying I agree with it." Then you go on to say, "...he's sinned by the BIBLE." Whatever that means.
How has he "sinned by the BIBLE"? What sin?

Going by the Bible, he sinned by being born. He's a jerk, so what? Hollywood is full of them. The beaten-to-death argument that the Passion was anti-semitic is just pathetic. It's no more anti-semitic than the rest of the New Testament.

"I'm not the one writing articles about him. These people are. I'm just saying what he will have to do to get back into their good graces if he wants too."Why should Mel Gibson give a fvck what "these people" think of him?
"These people" who are so critical of HIM can never seem to bring themselves to criticize "Shake" Nasrallah whose avowed goal is to obliterate all Jews - they can't even bring themselves to call him a Terrorist!
