New digital media features are boosting the CD and DVD burning capabilities of Macintosh computers, and are quickly and quietly transforming the rest of the electronics landscape as well.
Last week, Santa Clara, Calif.-based Sonic Solutions (Nasdaq: SNIC) debuted a new technology, Toast 7 with Blu-ray Disc support, the first ever application of that kind for the Mac. The optical disc recording technology provides Mac users with the ability to store up to 50 GB of data on a Blu-ray recordable or Blu-ray rewritable disc. By Gene Koprowski

There's actually a lot of truth to those ads. Now that MAC OS X is BSD based, and running Intels chips, I'd like to get one, but I'm waiting for the miniMac to go Intel. I want to hook it up to my HDTV and surround sound system.

Yes, absolutly.
He reminds me of the unemployed overeducated mac snob who can't figure out why his rejection of teamwork does not translate into steady emplyment.
I know I don't want to hire him.

I know I don't want to hire him. He seems to already have a job, you might send him a resume of your company and see if he wants to join.

Yea, iMac is technically in the desktop class. And the link supplied by another poster saying it - the mini - been around since Janurary is incorrect since according to Apple's site, they were still testing preproduction machines in Februrary.
Doesn't matter, I like the mini, damn small and fits in the A/V rack without much notice. Having a 1080 HD screen for a display will be awesome. To bad they don't have an HDMI port on it, although that in itself is froght with DRM limiting crap. So perhaps its a small blessing.
