Having employed child actors, I can assure you that I wouldn't want to do it again and would never allow my children or grandchildren to go that route.

It's not good for the kid; it's maybe worse for the parents. And it completely distorts the relationship between child and parent.

Directors can't scream at or discipline the child. But parents can. And do. "Stage moms" aren't a pleasant thing to be around.
