(August 13, 2006)--A suburban New Orleans pastor says he believes Hurricane Katrina put the "fear of God" into the city, but he isn't sure that will last.
The Rev. Grant Storms of The Reformer Church in Metairie, La., says New Orleans is a more sober city, literally and spiritually, than it was before Katrina struck.
He hopes New Orleans' French Quarter will now shed its immoral image and become a place that families won't be afraid to visit.
But Storms notes that the annual Southern Decadence festival is scheduled to begin on Aug. 30, the day after the first anniversary of Hurricane Katrina's landfall.
Good luck, pastor. Hope you don't have a whole lot of the church treasury bet on it.
Oh give me a break, most of those that were in NO were low life scum sucking off the gov tit for survival. So when the pastor wants the city built back up on a moral/higher basis, then keep out those who do nothing but want a handout.
Sorry Pastor....
I don't believe you can fit All of New Orleans on a Communion Waffer.
good luck.. that city was built on immorality from the ground up.. just leave it. Maybe God destroyed it.. he's got power over all elements of Nature you know..
New Orleans is built on sinking sands.
For some reason, I don't think the French Quarter will ever make the short list for family getaway destinations.
As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man. Things will get worse and not better.
