Great expectations "Concern is rising among Democrats that party leaders could tear each other apart if the party fails to take control of the House or Senate in November," U.S. News & World Report says in its White House Week column. "Expectations are especially high about winning the House, and one adviser to Bill Clinton says if the Democrats fail, it could result in party leaders forming a 'circular firing squad.' Specifically, Democratic defeat could quickly undermine the leadership positions of Democratic National Chairman Howard Dean and House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi."

Just another reason to vote Republican!
If the dysfunctional Republican party can retain their power, I will be the first to supply the bullets to the demoncrats so that they can shoot each other. It will be fun to watch them implode.
If republicans hold in 2006 then will the democrats finally realize they don't represent a majority, while the republicans finally realize they do?
yeah, right.
Actually, I hope they form that squad if they win ... Dean and Pelosi in positions of real power? Heaven help us!
Fire when ready, Pip!.........
Based on that, I'm cautiously optimistic that this year will be the last year that the Democrats are taken seriously as a party. They need to go the way of the Whigs.
This is now the SECOND "cover-your-@ss" story from the Dems in the last week (Carville had an internal memo warning about a "stolen election.") So apparently, they know a great deal that the pollsters don't know . . . or don't want to admit.
Yep---or a better example, the Federalists, a northeastern, anti-war party which was completely out of touch with mainstream America in 1816 . . . and just disappeared, never to return.
Dean and Pelosi fighting over power?
LOL!
That's like a real live Itchy & Scratchy cartoon.
Who has the popcorn concession for this double feature?
Good example...let's hope it comes true.
They have also gone from "can't miss taking both Houses" to "we will take the House and probably the Senate" to "We will probably take the House and have a shot at the Senate" to, "we better at least take the House or their will be real problems within the Party"
Exactly, the moving target of DEMO expectations. The next level of expectations for the RATS is--who screwed up our golden opportunity.
Of course you are assuming that the same media that falsely reported what happened in New Orleans, falsely reported what happened in Lebanon and falsely reports what is happening in Iraq is now suddenly reporting accurately what is happening within the Republican party, don't hold your breath.
Don't forget their last fall back position of "They STOLE the election from us..AGAIN!!!"
or you falsely assuming my remarks are based on what I read in the media. You or I don't need the lame stream media to know that the republican party has been asleep at the wheel. just look at the all the wonderful spending and mismanagement of the republicans. Reagan in turning in his grave.
and where did you get the info about spending?
where would you spend less?
the war on terror?
katrina relief?
raise taxes?
the media spin on the deficit is total BS, do you own a house, did you pay for it in cash?
if your house cost $300,000 and you make $50,000 a year aren't you in debt?
what you owe is not important as long as you are earning enough.
Haven't people figured out that the polls and the press have been deliberately skewing reporting in the run up to every election for the years now....
Every two years it the same thing the press and the poll miss the mark .....but that miss is not random..... they alway miss to the same direction... to the left....
It started out years ago as a SOP marking tactic ... create the buzz, the hype, to get the "heard" to move that way... the same as they do for movies, stocks, other products...(think about push polling)
They later added the after election play of "They STOLE the election from us..AGAIN!!!" to set up for the next election
It is only the most idiotic among us that will still fall for this. It may even work against the loony left, causing many to stay home since they are "ahead" and their vote won't be needed.
