Anything between the Tollway from I-35 all the way up to 121 is good. Go east of Central or West of the tollway at your own risk.
Maybe it wasn't called the Esquire. There was a movie theater in Cedar Springs that had an artist's palette and brush as its marquee. I remember seeing What's New Pussycat there.
From there and north to Bachman Lake used to be apartment complexes where the airline stewardesses lived along with the XKE/Corvette driving cowboys of Dallas's redneck jet set.

The area really went down after DFW opened. The Cedar Springs/Oaklawn area taken over by the homosexuals. The area then began to gentrify from Turtle Creek west and from Highland Park South. There are a bunch of high rise and mid rise condos along Turtle Creek, and the old complexes and houses between Turtle Creek and the Tollway are being torn down and redeveloped. There has been a lot of development on Lemmon, and they just announced a new shopping center at Lemmon and Mockingbird. There are still some spots that haven't been redeveloped south of Love Field, but as I mentioned earlier, the area north of Love Field/Bachman lake is pretty rough. South of Cedar Springs, Scottish Rite has expanded up to Maple along Oak Lawn, and it looks like they are finally developing the old Parkland facility across the street.

As a friend of the deceased person, Sansisky Daniels, there was nothing fishy about the situation that happened, he did not know the individuals(robbers), he was able to identify the persons, because he had been accosted by them before. So know your facts, before you start running your mouth. Home invasions are nothing new, he just happened to drive a nice car and live in a nice area and was handpicked for a crime.

Just fyi...he was a All Amercian hurdler in high school and college....He holds of sort of meet, school and conference records.....great guy as well. He will be missed.
