Though I have never tasted the horror and incomprehensible sadness of sitting beside a dying teammate; I have experienced the bond formed by self-sacrificing teammates while an active duty SEAL in the 1990s. It has not only defined me as a man. But it has given me a sincere appreciation for what it means to be a warrior: An understanding that not all men are warriors. And why America owes so much to its cardinal warriors like Marc Lee and the men who served and continue to serve on his left and his right.

Awesome, much love to all my Navy guys, and the SEALs!
Seals --- Next to the SeaBees --- the roughest & toughest in the U.S.Navy --- and I'm Recon!
ps ... I place the SeaBees higher because those old f*rts fight dirty! Made that mistake once in Recon School - the SeaBees trained there in San Onofre also in 1969
Native Americans own the word "warrior" and you can't use it.
Get real yerself!
So you think warrior is an indian word?
Not my argument;

Then it was meant to be sarcasm?
Nope, political correctness.
Warrior ping.
I was just having fun with equating "warrior" with standing up in a meeting and talking, as your dictionary example did, not debating the origin of the term.
As for Indian ('Native American' for the PC) warriors, they are a fine example, but not the only one. While many nations put soldiers on the field, some of whom were warriors, the Indians fielded warriors as a rule, not soldiers. It was not doing a job, but an entire raison d'etre.
Sorry, I live in So. Cal where I have had the argument about the use of the word warrior enough times that I didn't catch that you were joking. The name Last Dakotan probably contributed to me thinking that you were simply repeating a sentiment that I have heard many times in San Diego's "little Haight Ashbury"
Thats how I knew it was French, I've have had to look it up before when the sports name argument surfaces.
I understand, and agree totally with you, if you read my post above to Last Dakotan you can see why I had the wrong take on what you guys were saying, I forgot that here on FR most of us would be on the same page about something like this.

In Ocean Beach I have had that very argument many times. In this community everything the left does, seems to have the word warrior in its description.
I buy their books at garage sells and the word is in many of the titles which usually triggers a discussion from me.
