A Muslim boycott of Danish goods led to a 15.5% drop in total exports between February and June. Trade to the Middle East fell by half, statistics show.
An industry chief said there was little doubt the cartoons row was to blame....

If the Muslims crash planes into buildings and kill innocent people, you can friggin' bet the free world's gonna mock 'em. Go Denmark! Tillykke!

Great cartoon!
Wonder who, other than FR, is brave enough to publish it?

170 million bucks is the lunch budget for Citicorp execs.

Mr. McGuire: I just want to say one word to you - just one word.
Ben: Yes sir.
Mr. McGuire: Are you listening?
Ben: Yes I am.
Mr. McGuire: 'Havarti.'
Ben: Exactly how do you mean?
Mr. McGuire: Havarti is delicious! Think about it! Will you think about it?
Ben: Yes I will.
Mr. McGuire: Shh! Enough said. That's a deal.

Denmark is a postage-stamp country. $170 Million could be a pretty big bite for them. I've been trying to help, however. I've bought several tins of Danish Butter Cookies, and will buy more.
Last I heard, we spend more than 500 times that on pet food alone, in the USA. If we all start buying Danish hams and adding them to the dog and cat food, we should fix their trade imbalance rather quickly. Heck, we could even start making sandwiches out of it and sending them to school with our kids; maybe they could share them with Muslim friends...

Why don't we put Danish ham on the Guantanamo menu?
Just that would be cruel, 'course, so it's just proper that we should offer bacon, too...

Bacon bits in the green beans. Western Omelets, with lots of Danish ham. We should also start using bacon grease for bullet lube, too.

Maybe it's just me, but the idea of having trade agreements with people who would want to saw my head off seems something less than wise. Like those idiots who have pythons for pets (not wise to have a pet that looks longingly at you when they're hungry).

Running low on Carlsberg, off to buy more.Ditto. I never drank it before but I enjoyed a barrel of it this summer. Tuborg, too. Pretty good beer actually, plus beating the barbarians at their own game is satisfying.

A while back similar articles were posted on FR. At least one of them stated that increased sales to the US and other Western nations more than made up for loses to our Muslim friends.
