As an owner of an AK, no one is quicker to recognize their limitations than me, but I'd like to relate a story. By the time I broke in the barrel on my AK, barrel heat would cause the second 10 shots to hit anywhere in a pie plate at about 100 yards and no better. But I took some copper solvent and gave that barrel the scrubbing of a lifetime... at least 20 passes, with the solvent setting in the barrel for 20 minutes or so between each pass. Eventually, the patches started coming out clean. The next 10 shots from that barrel were in a three inch group at 100 yards, from a sitting position.
The sighting picture is a mess, but you put a low power scope on that thing and it will hit what you need it to. It will never match an AR, but it will go bang every time and meet my personal minimum accuracy requirements. You can hit what you need to with it.

"I took some copper solvent and gave that barrel..."
Isn't copper solvent bad for a chrome lined bore?

I prefer the other method of dealing with the AK's accuracy problems:

(Overwhelmingly superior firepower and the willingness to use it is the only proven peace solution.)
