Why didn't HGTV offer a dream home a likely winner could afford to live in?

Why didn't HGTV offer a dream home a likely winner could afford to live in? Advertisers contribute their goods and wares to the construction, in order to get to say, "Our __________ was selected to be in the HGTV Dream Home."..........

Why didn't HGTV offer a dream home a likely winner could afford to live in? This the the same question people have been asking for the past 12 some years. This is about the 12th dream house HGTV has "given" away and not one single winner has been able to keep the house. The number one reason - TAXES!
Even though this year HGTV also included $250,000 from some mortgage company, the winner still cannot hold onto the house.
Maybe HGTV will learn with the next house, but I doubt it.

Well no one thinks the property taxes and insurance would be so inflated! That's why it pays to do your homework before you look at a gift horse... down the mouth.

"Why didn't HGTV offer a dream home a likely winner could afford to live in?"
Because that wouldn't be a 'Dream Home'. That would be a real home.
The whole concept of a 'Dream Home' is a pernicious marketing ploy advanced by realtors everywhere.
Women seem particularly susceptible.

Why didn't HGTV offer a dream home a likely winner could afford to live in?Because it wouldn't be a DREAM home, then.
