"Radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America." " --Rosie O'Donnell September 12, 2006

Hollywood actors opinions are completely irrelevant regarding politics, the War on terror,or anything else of substance for that matter, but this comment leaves me speechless!

An interesting commentary on that comparison was made by Alexis de Tocqueville nearly two hundred years ago:

Mahommed professed to derive from Heaven, and he has inserted in the Koran, not only a body of religious doctrines, but political maxims, civil and criminal laws, and theories of science. The gospel, on the contrary, only speaks of the general relations of men to God and to each other – beyond which it inculcates and imposes no point of faith. This alone, besides a thousand other reasons, would suffice to prove that the former of these religions will never long predominate in a cultivated and democratic age, whilst the latter is destined to retain its sway at these as at all other periods.
One question would be whether "Radical Christianity" referred to is truly sticking to the gospel or not. It's important to note that de Tocqueville continued thus:
But in continuation of this branch of the subject, I find that in order for religions to maintain their authority, humanly speaking, in democratic ages, they must not only confine themselves strictly within the circle of spiritual matters: their power also depends very much on the nature of the belief they inculcate, on the external forms they assume, and on the obligations they impose.

To Rosie "Fat ugly mean-spirited dyke" O'Doofus, 'radical Christianity' is any type of Christianity which insists that:

1)Jesus is Lord,

2) He is the only begotten Son of G_d, the firstborn of heaven, who died on a cross for the sins of all mankind to save the souls of as many as would believe on His name and be saved, and

3) it is an unnatural lust, and a sin for her to 'lie down' with another woman, just as it is an abomination for a man to 'know' another man.

sorry rosie, but it's the truth - soft-pedaling or changing G_d's word - even for someone so important as you (/sarcasm) - is not an option the Heavenly Father gave us.

A.A.C.

"The Final Crusade has commenced; the Lord of Hosts is leading the way. Look! See! The Lord is a Warrior! The Lord is mighty in battle! He gives strength unto His people, He guards His own with His right hand! The Angel of the Lord encamps around about the ones who fear Him, and delivers them!"
