Amnesty report accuses Hizbullah of war crimes

Hizbullah militants broke international humanitarian law during the recent conflict with Israel, an Amnesty International report concluded today. The report said Hizbullah had violated law by firing thousands of rockets into Israel and killing dozens of civilians during the fighting.

The human rights group called for a UN investigation into violations committed by both sides during the 34-day conflict, but the report published today focused on the actions of the Lebanese militant organisation.

Hizbullah launched nearly 4,000 rockets into northern Israel during July and August, killing at least 39 civilians. The firing of rockets into urban areas violated international law calling for distinction between civilian and military targets, Amnesty said.

It's good that AI found the Hezbollah war crimes, but it's not enough. They found that many rockets launched by Hezbollah to civilian targets and then says Israelis did the same thing. However, they didn't say anything about Hezbollah using civilians as human shields or putting the rocket launchers in civilian areas which forced the Israelis to bomb them.

Hmmmm.........

Under criticism for its lack of objectivity, the London-based Amnesty International announced Wednesday that Hizbullah's firing of thousands of rockets into Israel amounted to "war crimes."

The findings, which appear in a new 15-page report, come three weeks after the human rights group issued a previous report which called Israeli strikes "war crimes," but failed to mention Hizbullah's rocket attacks.

Amnesty faults Hizbullah's 'war crimes'

Do you think the U.N. will require Hizbullah to say "S'cuse me"?

No. I don't think so either.

Wow, firing random missiles into civilian centers hoping to kill as many civilians as possible violates international law. Who would have thunk?

AI isn't wholly biased against the western countries.

AI is just stating the obvious trying to look the role of being unbias. Everyone knows the goal of Hizbullah is to kill as many Jews as possible, while the Jews try to target terrorists who hide among the civilian population. There is a huge difference that AI will never acknowledge.

"Amnesty report accuses Hizbullah of war crimes."

In a related item, Amnesty International has also accused several bears of cr*pping in the woods.
