Rendell spamming for votes
Email Spam | Vanity

Posted on 09/15/2006 9:19:12 AM PDT by slykens

So I open up my email this morning to find this real winner of a spam from "Rendell for Governor." I have redacted the identifying links but under the "priority" question each keyword is a link with a tracking code in it to identify you. I have no idea where my email was purchased from as I have been using an identifying address everytime I give out an email address for a few years. This was apparently harvested before I started doing that.

I also wonder if Pennsylvania's ANTI-SPAM law also includes political emails... Probably not but it is worth checking.

Dear Fellow Pennsylvanian,

Pennsylvania has accomplished a lot over the past four years – but I need your help setting my agenda for a second term.

What is your priority for Pennsylvania? environment healthcare higher education jobs/economy public education public safety other

I want to know what you believe is the most important issue facing our Commonwealth today. Please take a one-question survey and share your opinion with me.

Since I took office in 2003, we have created more than 130,000 jobs, invested millions in environmental cleanup, increased prescription drug coverage for almost 100,000 seniors, and enrolled more children in full-day kindergarten than ever before. We achieved all these milestones and still lowered taxes for job creators by nearly $1 billion and slashed the cost of government.

But we're not done yet. Right now, we're working to convince the Legislature to finally pass my "Cover All Kids" program, which will give health insurance to every child in Pennsylvania. We're also working to improve education and job opportunities for every Pennsylvanian and preserve and protect our environment.

But the only way we can continue to move Pennsylvania forward is by working together to tackle our biggest challenges with smart and effective solutions.

You can help by taking the quick one question survey that will help set priorities as we work together to make Pennsylvania even stronger than today.

Many thanks, Governor Rendell's Signature Ed Rendell

Paid for and authorized by Rendell for Governor.

I signed up with Democrats.com to use their facilities to send ABC encouragement to air "The Path to 9/11". I recently noticed that the email account I set up especially for that purpose is now getting lots of spam from the Democratic Party. I don't recall any warning that they'd be shoveling their bilge at me when I signed up, but it's not really a surprise.

At least he didn’t brag about balancing the budget in the email. In his commercials Rendell loves to brag about how he balanced the budget even though balancing the budget is required by the PA constitution.

Did you get paid a commission for that sale? Doubt it.

If I had $1 everytime my name, phone number, e-mail, was sold on a list, I would be rich.
