You act as if WalMart is the only business on the face of the planet that gets sued or buys products from overseas...........
It's refreshing to see someone standing-up against cheap foreign goods made by slave labor in favor of more expensive foreign goods made by slave labor.
When it's a Communist country called China supplying them ?
BUMP
Perhaps they are getting them from where everyone else gets them but is selling them as a loss-leader to get people into the stores.
Add-on sales boost the bottom line.
Why should I spend $10K on a Chineese Turd Coupé when I can buy a good old-fashioned Japanese used car for half that?
</sarcasm>
Look out. Windfall Profit taxes can't be far behind.
Considering how long they have already been selling them, your comment is ludicrous.
There is a new Lowes going up directly across from the Wal-Mart SuperCenter in my town. I'm guessing their MBAs think they will be able to sell more than 2 x 4s, plywood, and sheetrock.
and the resultant children looked like the blue man group
Based on past history, and free-market capitalist theory, I would be inclined to think that eventually, some other company will recognize the growing discontentment on the part of old-time Wal-Mart shoppers, such as yourself, and will jump into the void you describe - providing better service, mid-range products, better selection, etc. And people like you will willingly pay a little more for those things. Simple supply and demand.
Where I live, there's a Stop & Shop grocery store 3 miles away. I drive to a Wegman's that is 12 miles away, and pay a little more for my groceries. Why? Because Wegman's offers a better selection, better produce, better deli meats, and an overall vastly more pleasant shopping experience. If I couldn't afford to pay the higher prices, I wouldn't be sitting here bitching about it, I'd just be shopping at Stop & Shop (like I used to, when I didn't have as much discretionary income).
I am always amazed at how some people have so little understanding of, or confidence in, free market capitalism, when there are so many examples of its effectiveness staring us in the face. When Wal-Mart overreaches enough, when they allow their service, selection, or quality to drop off enough, rest assured that someone else will exploit the opportunity to offer people something that they find more appealing.
Wal-mart has actually been cited for this some years ago here. I thought it somewhat inane to have such a law. I am sure they will get scrutiny from our AG to "protect" us consumers.
The biggest Lowe's I have ever been in openned in June across from the local WalMart. I will continue to buy much of my lumber and such from the local mom & pop hardware store/lumber yard as the prices and quality are better and it's closer, and offer free delivery..........but there is much available at Lowe's that used to require a 50 mile trek because it was available anywhere locally.
It really makes me wonder if those same people actually expect that others need to be told not to shop there, if that is truly the case.
Could this increase the counterfeit drug market?
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13099555/
What is it about Wal-Mart that makes you think it is more likely to sell counterfeit drugs over some other company?
Not more likely just larger quantity. Low bid usually wins.
LMAO at your posts, as always.
No he's not! He's with a start-up drug company in Belize.
I thought he was in K-Mart?
