It sure did. Lost in much of the Schiavo debate was the core question...who has the right, absent written directives and family consensus, to make the decision regarding life and death. According to the left, this right ultimately should belong to the state. I cannot believe there was ever a debate on the right regarding the right to life and liberty, which should include protecting the rights of those who choose not to live under certain conditions.
