CNN Founder Seeks Meetings With Roh, Kim Jong-il
The maverick CNN founder Ted Turner is pushing for private meetings with the leaders of North and South Korea. Turner visited both Koreas last year. Now he is reportedly seeking meetings with President Roh Moo-hyun and Kim Jong-il. First visiting North Korea, Turner may carry a message when he subsequently travels south.
Last year, Tuner visited with Donald Gregg, a former U.S. ambassador to South Korea, Curt Weldon, vice chairman of the U.S. House Armed Services and Homeland Security Committees, on a charted plane to both Koreas. At the time, Turner gave US$150,000 to North Korea to aid in the development of farming technology.
The Korean Embassy in the U.S. said, We understand that Turner is pushing ahead plans to meet President Roh Moo-hyun and Kim Jong-il to ask for the dispatch of a pan-Korean delegation to a peace park project in South Africa.
The former chairman of CNN established the Turner Foundation to support environmental preservation in 1990 and launched a campaign to protect plants and animals. Since 1997, he has been engaged in the global denuclearization movement. Turner is a member of Responsible Wealth, a group that speaks up for preserving the estate tax, advocates fair taxes, proposes minimum wage hikes and pushes for decreases in the salaries of CEOs.
I said it as an utter sarcasm, no misunderstanding please.:-):-)
However, it is best that someone should put a brake on this idiot's do-gooding escapade.
What is wrong with Georgian liberals? First, Jimmy Carter, now Ted Turner.
Ping!
It must be the peanuts. Their brains, if any, have become peanuts.
Why doesn't he go and ask for the right to broadcast from NK? (Not that I trust CNN), but you get my drift.
OMG LOL!
Freepers be niceee LOL!
Hmm... a brain which tastes like peanuts. It could be a cannibal's dream?
That's Disgustin....
Is there a way to correct the misspelling in the headline?
There isn't much sadder than an unreconstructed "useful idiot".
Ted has been really useful.
It is a shame that Lenin died before Ted came along. Lenin would have had a field day for many years with Ted.:)
Please to inform you that Admin Moderator accepted my request and the misspelling is now fixed. Look out for any intended misspelling in my future postings if you have time. I know that such things tend to occur once in a while. I try to improve the batting average. It did somewhat. However, I still have to deal with the problem.:(
I got question for freepers who know Ted Fonda and Kim Jong 11
Who crazier Ted Fonda or Chia Pet
Correction: Pleased to inform you
Making another misspelling while announcing the fixing of the previous one. Embarrassing.:)
Ted probably needs some psycopath crazier than himself to build a giant monument to Ted's eccentric symbolisms such as a bronze male organ taller than any man-made structure with Ted's most ridiculous statements repeated around the clock over a loud speaker in English near the North Korean nuclear website. All of which makes no more sense than Ted has made in 20 years...a perfect match.
Hopefully the new guy running things in Japan will try out his pre-emptive doctrine while Ted is in the area...kill two birds with one cruise missile, so to speak...
